Re: NBA Finals Thread / Around The NBA In The Offseason
Doc was their big upgrade.
IMO would've been better off with Bledsoe instead of Redick, but Dudley might turn out to be a better fit than Butler.. and they knew they couldn't pay CP and Bledsoe the next few years...
Still a few ring chasers away, but they're definitely Western Conf. favorites now. OKC looks more vulnerable by the day, SAS's top 3 are gonna be another year older, LAL imploded, Memphis is missing something... and if a new mystery powerhouse comes up with Howard (Houston? GSW?), they'll need a year of growth and maturing.
OKC better hope Lamb and Stevens develop... Ibaka has a killer off-season... and Westbrook returns to health. They're depth looks piss poor. LAC absolutely have the edge right now.

Some would argue losing Vinnie was their big upgrade!
If Lakers get a return for Dwight (or he stays), like Blake + ? or Bogut and Barnes to team with Bryant (killer bees ;p).
Both conferences should be pretty interesting really. I wonder if Vegas has the Clips as western favorites, though I guess post-Dwight would be a better reading.

@TheRealC_Los: #Bulls are holding out hope POR "in time" may accept a Lamarcus Aldridge deal that's more acceptable. For now, the waiting game continues.

He's just repeating what's already been said.
The Bulls will never trade for Aldridge unless Portland lowers the price, which won't happen this summer.

I don't know if he's a reliable source or not, but that seems pretty clear to me just from paying attention to the reports this offseason.

I guess we will get the Bobcats pick next year . I think they have the chance to make the playoffs with Jefferson

If Dwight leaves the Lakers , And the Lakers miss the playoffs I think the Bulls should go after Kobe Bryant next Summer . He has proven still play at a high even though he is in his mid thirties

Is there anyway Bulls can get Marcus Thornton from Sacramento Kings? Imo, I think he's starting SG and also clutch, rather him than injured E.G.

Re: NBA Finals Thread / Around The NBA In The Offseason
Just saw the latest news that Golden State is trying to dump expiring contracts for cap room to chase Dwight, and just made me think that it would be so nice to have an owner that would just shell out money. We have the possibility to save the Warriors some money with our TPE and Rip's expiring contract. Here is what I would do if we had unlimited dollars from Papa Jerry:
Absorb Brandon Rush ($4Million) with our TPE.
Next, Bulls trade Rip ($5Million) and sign and traded VladRad and Cook for Biedrins and 1st Rd. Pick
Our payroll starts approaching the extravagant level, but they both expire after the season, and we get a first round pick out of it.
I know, seems like a lot for a late first round pick though... just got me thinking what we could do with more money though

Honestly, $15M (+15M luxury tax?) for 2 injury reserves isn't worth a late 1st rd. pick no matter how you look at it.

Right, but you are also getting Rush, who is a decent player and even more insurance in case Deng or Butler are considered in a trade for a star

Alex Kennedy reporting that Dwight Howard wants to play with Jose Calderon. So he won't come to Chicago to play with D-Rose, but he wants to play with Jose Calderon? Maybe next year he'll be demanding to play with Rodney Stuckney.

Even Cuban won't waste that kind money for first round.
Besides Rush torn his ACL, you have no idea where he is at right now in terms of condition and rehab.

Dwight want mediocre player whom is shooter and can have big game occasionally so he can be the man.

Exactly. If you're the kind of guy who needs to be "the man", then you don't want to play with other stars *cough* LeBron *cough*.

The only problem is Dwight think he can be the man in offense but he isn't it. He bitch about SVG didn't give him enough touch and he once again bitch about MD's offense. He should focus to bebecome Bill Russel than kareem abdul jabbar.

I wonder if we can dress up Kirk enough to pass for Calderon......
