good example...but they DID shoot absolutely lights out in the playoffs -way way above their season avg. Guys like "Playoff Jimmy" or Giannis are always lurking offensively too...Butler could score 15ppg all season and then avg. 30 through the playoffs.

I wonder what their ORTG just for the playoffs was - that was an amazing run and very "Heat" of them.
*Paolo may be that kind of talent for us

but I worry about him having to carry the load for 80 games just to get to the playoffs. That's a lot to ask of any human.
What I notice with the Heat is they rest all their players throughout the season quite often. They have a deep roster for guys to fill in. Appears they are not always playing for wins, but saving guys for the playoffs while developing the bench often with extra minutes while they rest starters. Jimmy plays under 30 minutes often.
Because regular season is meaningless basketball from game- to -game perspective.
Warriors already proved it with 73 wins season. If you run yourself to a ground your "home court adventage " won't mean anything if you arrive in playoffs banged up & mentally burned out.
Lakers last year went to WCF from palyin and 43-39 record.
Nowdays we have whole bunch of pretenders that win lot of regular season games by simply trying hard(er) than the others just to get crushed in playoffs like Memphis, 2021 Knicks, 2020 Indiana, 2018 Blazers etc.
