I think a change will happen if things aren't looking well after December, then Riley will think things through and make it happen before the All Star Break.

Re: Fire Spoelstra
I like Spo... I do.
Heat definetly need to shake things up... fire some assistants and bring in an offensive mind that can help organize the team on both ends of the floor. Season is early but losing to teams with a good coach and pg is getting old.
No more talk of 70 wins, now we are shooting for 50. We should be crushing teams although the end of the last game was just nuts and props to the Jazz.

I like Spo a lot but he really needs to fix the rotations and get a offense flowing. I dont want him fired but if he cant figure things out than he has to go.

Re: Fire Spoelstra
Yeah, I like Spo. He did a lot for the Heat in 08-10, and we can't forget that. This is what annoys me about sport fans, they tend to be very bipolar. Did you guys forget that the Heat were 6th in Defense last year? That's surprising considering the roster that they had. The only explanation is coaching. That being said, I too am not too happy with how Spo has been handling things as of late. Sure, it's only 8 games, and I know not to overreact. But at the same time, one also shouldn't stick his head in the ground and pretend that everything will be alright. The funny thing is, that this is a message board, and whatever I say will obviously not have any influence on anything. So maybe it is better for one to stick their head in the ground, because the latter and former will have the same effect.... But anyways, back to the original point, you can't just ignore that Spo has been making some mistakes. That being said, if he doesn't step his game up, I wouldn't fire him persay, but rather demote him, because I still think he is a very good guy to have around and he isn't an idiot as many of you are making him out to be.

Demote, fire or whatever. He will not deliver the goods. Then we will have some people on this forum saying Spo. just needed a year to gel with the new team. 2011 - 2012 is the year Spo. gets it done

Lots of things but I don't need to point them out because there are so many people on here who do with exageration.
I've never seen a perfect coach.
I also remember Pat (who I DO hold as a near deity - for you noobs he was my icon when he coached) making plenty of poor decisions. I didn't call for him to be fired either.

I never asked for Pat to be fired either and I had a forum account back them. What exactly is your point?!?!
I thought Stan Van was a great coach who would have won it all if Wade stayed healthy.
Pat and Stan are superior to Spo. in just about every way that matters.

You can list them in a calm fashion. The fact that you don't makes you seem like a biased, unobjective, delusional and optimistic homer. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism, don't be afraid to give some.

What are you talking about?
I answered your question that of course I think he's made many poor decisions - the same as Riley and every other coach - that doesn't make him a bad coach. But you are extremely blind so I don't know why you bother asking me questions or commenting on my comments.
I know what you think

allball - I like some of the things you say but other times I think you're 12.
The non-Spo haters (of which there are many) have listed his good qualities many times and quoted other experts talking about his qualities many many times over the last couple of years. We are all tired of doing it anymore because it will never change your minds, you are all blinkered or blind to Spo's good points.
I'm not a homer - I merely bother to defend the guy(as I do with JA, CA, MC, CB at the moment, and EH, DW, and all the others in the past) as I get sick of swinger fans who declare undying love for the Heat when they're winning and then undying hate for coaches and players when they are losing without getting any perspective into the situation.
Why do I bother? I guess it's because I choose to waste my life reading this website and feel the need to repsond. I wish I didn't.
BTW you're not suggesting the criticism of spo in this (and all Spo threads) is constructive are you?

Re: Fire Spoelstra
Pat Riley will not fire Spo. Book it.
If this terrible losings continues and Miami ends up a bad record, I bet Spo will be force to resign because of the pressures.

Re: Fire Spoelstra
You didn't read anything I posted about Spo, did you? Allow myself, to quote myself.
So yeah, nonconstructive criticism would be "Fire Spo" or "Spo Sucks" without giving an explanation. I pointed out what his mistakes are and what he can do to change it, hence it is constructive criticism.
I have yet to make you see a constructive criticism of anything.
I do trust Riley, and I trust he'll pull the trigger on Spo if he needs to.
AllBall wrote:I'm not on the fire Spo bandwagon just yet, he can still redeem himself by removing Arroyo and Anthony from the starting lineup, stop using Haslem and Bosh at the same time, and play Stackhouse and Pittman/Magloire.
As far as the losses go, since we are 1-3 against good teams, I'm going to give him a pass on the first game. So for me he has one more strike to go.

Of course I read it;
You know more about the Heat roster and basketball than spo and riley.
It must be all the time you've spent around the team.

Dodge?
Your post suggested that you think Pitt - a second round overweight rookie with potential should start. That stackhouse a washed up vet chasing a ring should start and that Spo and Riley don't know what they're talking about.
What was dodged?
Oh that they should quit if they lose again (I guess that's what you meant by "one more strike to go")
So many Monday morning QB's on this forum - you're just full of it - at least some of us know we know nothing.

You dodge the fact that you don't even so much as give constructive criticism. Make one, it'd be refreshing to hear it from you.
And let me address this:
HIF wrote:You know more about the Heat roster and basketball than spo and riley.
So if I have a math professor solving a formula on the board, and I spot a mistake and point it out, does that mean I'm claiming to know more than the professor? No! It just means I could spot a mistake.
I don't know what rotating off the bench means to you buddy, but it doesn't mean start. Go look at all my posts, I want Big Z to start!
