According to twincities.com:

The Timberwolves are serious about a potential trade of Michael Beasley to the Los Angeles Lakers for a first-round draft pick.

A little birdie says the Philadelphia 76ers aren't interested in trading shooting guard Andre Iguodala to the Wolves, who need a shooting guard who can make shots.

Charlie Walters is Minnesota's version of Sam Smith so you have to take whatever he writes with several grains of salt. That said, I think there is truth in this one. It seems obvious watching Wolves games lately that Adelman does not trust Beas and that he isn't in the team's future plans. If Minny can move him and pick up a late first without taking back any contracts, it would be a good move. Otherwise, they will just let him walk after this season. They need the cap space, though, to go after a wing (someone like Batum as an example) so the key would be no contracts coming back.

I actually kind of feel sorry for Beas. He worked with Norm Nixon in the offseason to improve his body and his image. Gone this year are his ever-changing hairdos and his silliness. Also gone, unfortunately has been his shot. He has been a good teammate and a good lockerroom guy in Minnesota. He just doesn't work in Adelman's ball-movement-heavy offense.

Sessions/Fish
Kobe/Arenas
MWP/Barnes
Pau/Beasley
Bynum/Sheed

That would be a solid bench, a good fast PG, instant scoring off the bench and a veteran defensive center in Sheed.

Wolves offer Beasley to Lakers for 1st Round Pick

The Timberwolves offered Michael Beasley to the Lakers in exchange for the higher of L.A.'s two first-round picks. However, the Lakers are torn on Beasley -- because L.A. is over the tax line, the team would be adding more than just Beasley's $6.26MM cap figure. I imagine they'd also prefer to use their trade exception to acquire a point guard.

If we don't do this for money reasons, after the huge tv deal...then jim buss deserves all the bashing he's been getting. I understand if we are saving the pick to acquire a pg though, so it could be either one.

This is probably a backup plan for if we fail in getting Dwight.

probably right! If I were the lakers I would do that. You guys need to get better in a hurry if you want to compete this year.

Why would the Wolves be looking to trade Beasley, when their number 2 overall pick is backing up the best PF in the league? Beasley is a perfect fit for them at the SF spot. Williams has much better potential IMHO only 20 years old, but is really a PF.

If that Beas rumor is true, it means that the Lakers has no plans to use that trade exception all along. They really just want to cut down on salary. Not that Beasley is worth 12million, but that was a chance to get a talent for nothing and we turned it down.

Cards are out, there is no plan after trading Odom.
