So yesterday I started learning to play the song Europa by Santana for Father's Day, my dad loves the song. The song sounds amazing and to my primitive ears and weak fingers it always sounded ridiculously hard. I started learning guitar last year as I may have mentioned, I couldn't play it for him for his birthday in October because I had just recently picked up my first guitar around that time. I got frustrated with the guitar as I'm much like a child in that when I want to lean something I want to learn it now, I learn things quickly which probably doesn't help in building patience. So I didn't even bother trying to learn Europa. All I could play back then was the intro to Paint It Black
Christmas came and I had finally started playing a little more consistently, about 3 days a week playing 15-20 mins each time. Still not enough to learn a whole song which I credit to my lack of consistent effort and poor focus when I'm rehearsing, if it can even be called rehearsing

I finally decided to take guitar a lot more seriously towards the end of December and January. So finally I decided to see yesterday if I could maybe get through the first phrases. Seems hard work is paying off, I can play the whole first section of the song before the guitar changes its sound and gets mellow. I figure if I rehearse at least two hours a day I'll learn it by my next paycheck. I'm very excited about this and don't normally share these things but couldn't contain my excitement. I can't believe I was able to learn so much of it in such little time. I only rehearsed it for 2 hours, maybe less. I only got 30 mins at work, if that and when I got home I know a got over an hour but not two, cuz then I ate dinner. All in all a very productive day.
****, I wrote a lot
