Atlanta needs to have some balls and roll the dice.
Who cares if he would walk, so you start over then.

Bynum is signing wherever he gets the most money. HE already said so before, as long as they have a bank. He has 2 rings, and now wants to be the man on his own team and not play in Kobe's shadow.
HE said that right after they lost in the playoffs.
Since then a short list has come out of where he would go IF he were a FA.. Cleveland, Houston, Dallas.
I would put the odds he stays in Orlando at about 60-70%. As in probably, but it's a major risk.

This.
They could have a completely blank slate if he left for a rebuild, or an awesome team if he stays.

if im atlanta... why trade for him? just make a run at him in free agency. once the nets are out of the picture, its basically you or dallas in the offseason

I gotta give it to you Joe, as much a Nets fan as you are and have been, at least you look at things realistically instead of shovelling stuff down Magic fans throats.

Atlanta makes more sense because they can swing for the fences and rebuild if it all fails and wouldn't be breaking up a contending core like Chicago. Dwight and Josh could likely get Monta to sign their relatively cheap and they could still have room to go for a PG like Lowry.
Plus, (although many people may not know or guess it) Atlanta is a major media market as far as television networks, studios, production etc. go so Dwight could still make all the money he wants in endorsements. Playing in Indianapolis never stopped Peyton Manning from being an endorsement guy.
Zaza and two draft picks for Dwight and JRich. their is no better offer unless Dwight promises to sign an extension
Houston is easily better. they can offer bigger expirings, young promising players on rookie contracts and take Dwight+Jrich. Plus, Orlando wouldnt be trading them in their own division and seeing him 4 times a year.
You are begining to sound a little like the Nets fan Shaheen
Atlanta fans are praying for a Dwight trade to Houston, that is even better than Zaza and draft picks for Dwight and JRich, because Dwight will walk away from Houston after one year and Hawks can sign him straight up next summer and keep all of Atlanta's picks AND NOT HAVE TO TAKE ON JASON RICHARDSON'S CONTRACT!!!!

COME ON MOREY PLEEEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

because he has never shown an interest in playing there, but get him there, play a year with his best bud in Josh, have some cap space to bring in Monta and they can probably keep him.

He's a fan who doesn't want to make the trade unless Dwight is resigned. I don't think he believe Zaza and 2 picks are better than Houston's offer.
Houston has the best offer unless Atl includes Horford (which dtown doesn't want to do unless extension is agreed upon) then they are more comparable.
Jarret Jack: “I brought one of my best suits. But looking down at this jersey, it’s just a sense of pride I don’t think I’ve ever felt as a professional. … Nothing in my closet is better than what I have on now."

maybe, maybe he walks from the guaranteed money. He has never shown an inkling of wanting to play in Atlanta, but maybe. though Houston has cap space themselves and could try and bring in Monta there. They dont have state taxes either so Dwight would make even more money.
and after signing Joe Johnson to his $120m contract, Jason Richardson at $6m is not much, especially for a proven vet SG that can kill with a good PG.

he hasnt shown an interest in playing anywhere but brooklyn. and his options as a FA are limited to basically atlanta and dallas. where he either play with an aging dirk or josh smith

@dtown8
There is no way that Magic is going to take Zaza and two draft picks besides that trade needs to match the salary that Orlando is giving up. That why the salaries of Al, Teague or Harris, Zaza or Steveson, and draft picks will work.
Okay isnt going to take an two expires and draft picks, after they had been given 5 drafts atleast.
True but then again, the only way he is going to the Nets via trade (btw its sucks) or FA (For MLE), yeah, he is going to like to play for MLE, really MLE.

Thanks Tiderz.
Now that the Nets are out of it (and even as long as they were in), you guys deserve the maximum return for the BS this guy has put you guys through.... and because he's one of the top players in the game.
I've been fine all along with not getting him (wouldn't be mad if we did), but really the only team I don't want to see him on is the Lakers... unless he leaves them of course. If I was Orlando, I would just be very wary of Bynum. He doesn't seem like a very high character guy and it would suck if he put you guys through another fiasco.

i think bynum is automatically a fiasco. even if he DOES end up resigning with orlando he is still going to opt out so that he can get a bigger deal(i.e. like deron with the nets). which means months and months of speculation unless he just comes out and says "im styaing" which in this day and age just doesnt happen.
do the magic then trade him at the deadline, or roll the dice like the nets did?

richboy wrote:The Hawks entire plan is based on CP3 leaving the Clippers to go to the Hawks. It just isn't going to happen. Really by sounds if it if CP3 could have signed a 5 year extension right now he would. They pretty much just hoping that Josh Smith and playing in his hometown will guilt Dwight into staying. Even if he can't go to Brooklyn Chicago can amnesty Boozer and he go play with Rose. Really just about every team is going to start positioning themselves for Dwight next summer. What going to end up happening instead of loosing Dwight for nothing they trade him to Brooklyn.
I guess Orlando would get Al Horford. Not loving that deal really. The Magic are stacked with PFs. Having Horford at center just makes them small. I keep hearing people say the Hawks can offer a deal but really Al Horford just isn't much of a piece. He a little overrated on these boards. He fits a role better than Lopez but Brook is more skilled and just much bigger. Horford to me is just Horace Grant.

Dude you cant be serious. Al Horford is a freaking all star and all nba player. What has brook lopez done? No GM in their right mind would give Lopez a max contract. BAWSE is signed for 3 more years at 12 million.
Our plans are not based around CP3 but we will be a player for him with Smoove and D12 recruiting him. People just want to see the Hawks progress and i will never understand why.
D12 comes here doesnt need to win a title to get this city fired up. Just making the ECF FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE MOVING TO ATL would be such a major accomplishment. I think the Hawks would start to take over the city unless the Falcons win a title this year.lol
The Magic need to go ahead and make this move to my Hawks so Ferry can put us back on map.

Houston and Lakers can make better deal, besides do you think that any GM would make that deal? Hawks goal is to get down on salary not up. dtown8, nice try.
My deal is Hawks 1st/Rockets 1st(Lottery Pro)/Al/Teague/Zaza for D12 and fillers

why in the world would atlanta offer all of that when they have the room to sign him outright in the offseason? most i can see is ZAZA picks and maybe taking on jrich

And neither can Atlanta as that trade doesn't work
Atlanta still has the following salary...
Teague / Harris / Farmar
Morrow / Stevenson
J.Smith
Hoford
Pachullia
or about $50m in salary.

Atlanta fans would love it if Houston or LA made a Dwight trade (with no commitment from Dwight to resign) even more than trading away Zaza for Dwight............... and i can explain it to you if you want!
