Please make an option in settings so that we can ignore this "+1" garbage.

Re: +1
The message panel looks cluttered with the +1 symbols and such.

Re: +1
Is there anyway to unlike a post after you liked it? I find myself accidentally pressing the button sometimes.

Re: +1
Going back to SS's 2nd point:
I agree with him.
Might as well install a standard reputation system if we are going to the +1 (AND 1) route.
To me, this is poorly thought out concept.
What value does this really add? Will users be able to search through a particular topic and sort by post popularity? Does this add to the users overall popularity; sort of like a point system that shows how respected the user might be? Keeping a running count of +/- might be cool under the users alias (or post count). If not then this isn't a very useful feature at all.

Re: +1
Reputation could be done in the future.
For now, we wanted to get rid of the excessive Plus 1 and Like posts.

When I wrote that I hadn't considered that it was to help eliminate the "+1" or "THIS" posts. Even if this new feature doesn't eliminate all of those, which it won't, it still helps. Each time someone quotes a really long post and simply adds a "+1" that data is stored (and effectively duplicated) in the database. Those tend to add up and decrease the overall performance of RealGM, not to mention it gets rather annoying when people are quoting the same post over and over just to add a "+1" to the end of it.

Re: +1
I like the new "And 1" button over the "+1" and that there isn't a separate button to view who liked it. The refresh is less noticeable as well. I'm not sure if this is more hassle than it's worth, but if someone already "And 1'd" a post, it still lets me hit the button and refreshes the page... would it be possible to have the page do nothing in that situation or perhaps on click just show who already liked it (so I could see my name and realize I'm an idiot)?

Nice incentive for people to write quality posts. Simultaneously, it imposes the hazard of greater addiction to the site from the member perspective.

u say it like its a bad thing
If you read half the post, yes a bit of negative remark.
Would add to the significance of the feature if users accumulated total amount of and1's that would be instantly updated, say, under the usernam (above/under post count)

I agree. Kind of pointless to just have the +1 and not keep track of them somewhere. Should definitely add some kind of counter to see which posters have a lot of them.

Re: +1
A comment and a glitch:
1. Instantly replay: Let me take back my And 1's, even if there is no "-1" button.
2. A glitch: Sometimes upon And 1'ing, the site returns me to the first page in the thread instead of the page that I am on.
