OK. You got me. It was an incorrect statement that I answered with fact.
Play time is over.

Everybody get criticized - it's the nature of the game. But the best are able to hear the criticisms and learn from it.

btw... what NBA champion should we be comparing him to?

I actually set Melo's bar to Kobe as well. Even Kobe sets Melo's bar to him. People really underrate how talented this guy is and what he can accomplish when he is focused on the right things.

btw, Melo does respond well to criticism. He just doesn't say the "right things" to the media. However, one the court he responds and that is all that really matters IMO. New York was good for Melo, he needed to be picked apart to get better. We'll see the results of this next season.

You would think being both "the best scorer in the league" and a top-5 passer for his position would have yielded more results.

The talent is there. Now, he has to change his approach to the game.

Melo has good vision and is a good passer. The problem is he's always looking to make a play, even when passing. This helps contribute to his reputation as a ball-stopper. He doesn't just swing the ball to create movement, he holds onto it and looks for the assist.

And before someone starts, it's not about him trying to pad his stats or anything, it just seems to be his philosophy on the court. He feels a need to "accomplish" something every time he has the ball.

Well, he has a ton of passing support now. His decision making process has to change. Either attack or move the ball. Decide and execute.
