I actually set Melo's bar to Kobe as well. Even Kobe sets Melo's bar to him. People really underrate how talented this guy is and what he can accomplish when he is focused on the right things.
btw, Melo does respond well to criticism. He just doesn't say the "right things" to the media. However, one the court he responds and that is all that really matters IMO. New York was good for Melo, he needed to be picked apart to get better. We'll see the results of this next season.

And before someone starts, it's not about him trying to pad his stats or anything, it just seems to be his philosophy on the court. He feels a need to "accomplish" something every time he has the ball.
