Re: Has Rozier finally broken out or is it fools gold?
Would the Celtics give extensions to both Smart (after this season) and Rozier (after next season) unless one or both are part of some big trade, like the deal to get AD?
That is assuming they will both command extensions of $12-15 million a year or more?

Seriously?
Bradley is possibly on his way out of the league right now. Guy looks totally washed up.
Rozier is already better than Bradley ever was as a Celtic, easily. Bradley never had the type of impact on either end of the floor that Rozier has had this year alone. Bradley is a defensive liability despite all his efforts
I gotta admit its weird how reluctant your fanbase has been to get behind Rozier this year
No green font? He is 27. He will be in the NBA for at least 5 more seasons. Go home.

Yes.
Terry can be a starter in this league. He'll probably always be an inconsistent shooter but supreme confidence and athleticism can make up for a lot.

As long as he is not relied on defending the other teams best guard then he will be fine. Then again Kyrie is a good player and not exactly a very good defender.

Why say that? He's still more than a year to go on his rookie contract and only got to start and play big minutes in the last month? He's got a really smooth shot.

TRo is a very good defender already.

Because we have watched Tatum be starter-quality/superstar potential in year 1 and Brown take a huge leap in year 2, it’s easy to forget that it often takes more time before young guys establish themselves in the league. Rozier’s steps have generally been smaller along the way, but seeing him figure it out has been no less exciting. Fulfilling the promise we saw when he stepped into a role in the playoffs and showed us something out of nowhere.

Lots of good Rozier things continue to happen, and the frequency of good Rozier things happening continues to rise. When will this pattern level off?
We do not know.

Terry John Rozier III became the first player in NBA history who is third of his name to make at least eight 3-pointers in a game.

Rozier still needs his ace up the sleeve. It would be good if he could learn how to finish as he can get into the paint at will but cannot finish for ****. If anything his trade value has no doubt improved this season, not that i want to trade him but if the right deal came along(hello Kawhi) T Ro would be a valuable piece in a package.

I love Terry and he is a great backup, but man oh man if he is our starting PG for the postseason we need to pray to whatever higher power we all believe in that he is ready for this.
I trust him, sort of....maybe?

But, I want my all star NBA champion clutch 3 point shooting beast back.

Rozier plays better in playoffs, he proved it twice. This time he will be a starter and maybe the result will be different but I have confidence in him taking into account performance in playoffs and clutch time.

Yeah, I don't question his shooting at all. Disregard the game last night. He is a good 3 point shooter regardless. That is the least of his worries. He hits them at a good rate. He is good off the dribble and a really good catch and shoot 3 point guy. His 3 point shooting doesn't happen in the corners either. It is almost all above the break.
Rozier's paint game is the big worry. He has improved every year, but still has a LONG way to go in the paint. That will determine if he goes from bench spark scorer to true efficient scorer. He is 42% from 2 point range (not FG%, but 2pt%). He is 53% within 3 feet, 31% from 3-10, 42% from 10-16, and 36% on long 2s).
Even on Rozier's current tear (since that initial triple double in 1st start), his 2pt % isn't sky high. It's at 41.5%, while his 3pt% is at 44.6%.

The talent is there without question. He needs to learn better playmaking and he needs to finish at the rim better. But the talent is there.
The skills he needs can be learned, talent cannot be taught. His ceiling has yet to be determined.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Don't think he will ever be a efficient scorer shooting percentage wise because he's a poor finisher at the rim. He's actually improving though and could be a 15/5/5 guy maybe not super efficient but if he got his three ball up consistently it wouldn't matter.

His improvement, year-to-year and now month-to-month with more time, has been so great that that one hole still in his game should not be considered irreparable. Especially given his athleticism and skills, including his handle. I'd be shocked if he doesn't improve in that significantly by next year.
