I would’ve loved to beat you guys while your team was healthy. Unfortunately your team isn’t. Meaningless game for both sides.

He's not going to click that link. Objectivity was not the point.
He (or she) should click the link. Trolling 3 hours before the game on a Saturday afternoon must mean this person is bored and doesn't have much to do. Might as well educate themselves.
God that map is embarrassing

Crazy how in a few short years its very possible that we'll have 3 wings better than Derozan. The East really is ours for the taking over the next little while. It'll be us and Philly for years to come.

So in case we win tonight has someone saved the links for all those "saltics are loosing by 25, Brad is overrated, derozan is the second coming of MJ" posts on the raptors forum so we can start the and1's?

Brown in. Larkin out. Not having Larkin is huge. Might have to call on Kadeem Allen or Xavier Silas for minutes. I bet we get some point Horford minutes too.

Which three wings? Tatum, Brown, Hayward? Tatum is the only one who could be.

Hayward might be, haven’t seen him in action yet with Stevens. Brown probably won’t but he’ll be real good.

I feel like Gertrude Howland and his MAX contract are going to be traded away to some middling team once Brown and Tatum are up for their rookie contract extensions. I don't think Jaylen Brown will surpass DeRozan overall but he will be a very good defender for sure.

I dunno about that, in the modern NBA you can’t really have too many two way wings. It’s similar to when the NFL offenses exploded around 2006-2007 and started running a lot more three receiver formations and teams suddenly needed 3 good corners instead of just two. Hayward is probably in it for the long run long as Stevens is around.

What?
Hayward is already better then derozan. Hayward has improved in every metric over the course of every season thus far into his career. Last season Hayward had stats, advanced metrics, and win shares that were all equal to or greater then both Paul George and Jimmy Butler. He’s honestly one of the most underrated players in the nba, and even with that being the case espn still had him ranked in the top 25 going into this season. Hayward is both a better shooter and playmaker then derozan is, while being comprobale in defense and scoring. His skill set is just deeper then that of derozan and he impacts winning on a much higher scale.
Jaylen Brown is another one who has all the capabilities to be a better player then derozan. The jump he’s made from year one to year two has been astounding. He’s already a better perimeter defender and 3pt shooter then derozan is. He has the athletic capabilities to be amongs the top wings in the NBA, especially when you consider his improved ability to be a consistent 3pt shooter. His ball handling and play making skills are already night and day compared to last season. At only 21 years old, he’s already on a better career trajectory then both jimmy butler and kawhi Leonard at a comparable time in their careers. Now I’m not saying he’s definitely going to be that great a player, but with his work ethic, athleticism, shooting, and elite defense that he’s already shown at just 21 years old, he absolutely has a chance to get there. Not to mention the fact that his IQ both in and off the court is off the charts. I see his ceiling, should he eventually reach it, as being somewhere between Jimmy and Kawhi.
Tatum I obviously don’t need to delve into since you already conceded that he could be better.

Yes. Brown's ceiling is definitely higher than Derozan. Already a better outside shooter, better defender, neither are good play makers but Brown has way more room to grow obviously. If he tightens up his handle and stops making the occasional boneheaded play he'll be better than Derozan.
I'd take last year's Hayward over this year's Derozan comfortably. Better shooter and play maker by a mile, better defender, and actually performed in the Playoffs (something Derozan hasn't done in his career).

Win or lose, nothing good will come out of this game thread tonight from either fans. Good luck to all, I'm avoiding this place for 24hrs.

Uh oh. In this strange season, this is bad news. With Irving and Smart out, who's the back up point guard?
We might see some of the Brown/Tatum backcourt.

Ive been wondering if Jaylen can cover PGs for extended stretches. Excited to find out— if he can, were one step closer to Brad’s dream of an all-wing lineup

Jesus, Larkin too? Fans attending the game better get ready because they may have to suit up.

How come there isn't a single game lately where a new Celtics player is not injured or ill?
Anyway Larkin being out is huge. He is a big part of the Celtics perimeter defense. Watching a lazy defender like Rozier trying stop Lowry and VanVleet will not be good sight. I hope Brad gives Bird or Allen some minutes.
