I feel like I might have been way too conservative here by the end of the season if we get more statlines like the 2nd game of the season.

8.0 PPG / 2.0 APG / 4.0 REB / 1.0 STL / 1.0 BLK. 70%+ Free Throw Shooting. Based on 20 MPG.

If he puts up those numbers as a Rookie I'm ecstatic.

I thought he'd be playing closer to 20 minutes, but he has played 32.5 and 35.5 minutes respectively over the first two games. That's a real positive sign because he has been productive at both ends of the floor.

Adjusted for 30 minutes:

12.0 PPG / 3.0 APG / 6.0 REB / 1.5 STL / 1.5 BLK.

Even still I might have sold Scottie short, he looks good early. As opposing teams start to respect his shot it's going to open up the passing game for him, so we'll see those assist numbers climb.

The assists won't be that high as long as Barnes isn't the de facto PG and primary ball handler.

His PPG and RPG will be higher than projected though if he keeps starting.

Come on now how’s he gonna shoot 42 percent from the field when most of his buckets are dunks and layups. 42 percent is like what a guard would shoot

Right now they're playing off him so he's taking (and making) the open jumpers. When they're forced to start playing tighter on him the assists will come.

Also the team is shooting terribly so far so he should probably have more assists already anyways.

Eventually, teams will start focusing on Scottie so he be forced to adjust.

He may continue to exceed most ppls conservative expectations throughout the year including mines. But exciting times indeed

My observations as well. Lots of bricks or fouls after his dimes.

ADOBE gotta be responsible for a handful of missed dimes from/for Scottie Barnes.

I am busy with work and father duties, so I have no time to provide predictions now. I promise to provide my prediction at the end of the season after i see how he plays.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I think as the season goes along, Scottie will attempt more threes (just 5 of his 42 FGA have been threes so far) which will drag his overall FG% down a decent amount. I still think he'll be around 50 by the end of the year though.

17 points

8 rpg (5 off/3 def)
1.9 steals
2 blocks
51% shooting
35% 3-point on low-volume
82% FT

I'm not too bad so far. I really thought he'd have more assists. My blocks and steals were kind of ridiculously optimistic for any player, let alone a rookie. He's going to have to up his 3pt game, though!

I expect the assists to come up as he gets to handle the ball more. I was going to guess that his points would come down but I can't help but feel that he's doing this so far despite not getting plays called for him or getting the ball all that much. I'm starting to feel like getting the ball into his hands in the halfcourt will only become more of a priority as the offense struggles.

and i'm surprised at the low steals and blocks numbers so far - but I think they'll come fast and furious soon.

He’s not going to be amazing until year 3-4 imho. Looking to be surprised by I think those are reasonable averages for a guy who can’t shoot.

Maybe 1-2 steals per night and 1 block? Hopefully a lot of deflections as well.

well i'm going into full retraction mode now. (or did I have one?)

the new 2 years from being 2 years away is the present (today)

18-7-3 is my prediction right now.
