Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread: Part Two**
Any other poster thinking Towns may be available this summer if he and Gobert do not work the remainder of the season?
As much as it would hurt to lose him, his health/injuries have caused him to miss time the past three out of past four seasons -- 35 games played (2019-2020), 50 games played (2020-2021), currently 21 games played (2022-2023).

No...I don't think we are going to trade him this summer.

I can't imagine the team would consider moving KAT before next trade deadline at the earliest. My guess is they give it at least all of next season before moving off of one of Gobert/KAT (assuming the fit never comes together).

It's down to 2 weeks until the first game after the all-star break (Feb 24), so if KAT is hoping to make it back at that point I'd expect there to be a more informative update fairly soon.

If Charlotte or Orlando just miss out on Wembanyama, and both are ready to compete now, we trade Kat to them for Scoot. We can compete and have a great PG prospect learning under Conley his rookie season. A main core of Ant,Mcdaniels and Scoot will be good for the next decade.

Jon's articles are way more optimistic. For a while they just simply said no timeline, now it's all about when KAT returns post all-star break.

I really appreciated Kat referencing the different schemes and stuff in the livestream that Klomp posted, complete with the lingo and terminology. IIRC it's the first time I've ever seen this from an NBA player and it's really great to get this insight into the game like this.

I think it’s extremely unlikely we trade Towns. He has been loyal to MIN through many horrible situations, and we don’t have other players that talented wishing to come play in MInnesota.

I was merely stating if Connelly continues to try and make the Gobert trade work, Towns may be next to go if the two cannot play side-by-side on the court. There's no reason to have that much tied up in two centers.
Towns still holds plenty of value, IMO, especially when you consider what other players have been dealt for.

"But we should trade KAT!" said waay too many people on this forum.
They forget so quickly how he carried us to the playoffs last year. He's a near perfect 1B.

Yes, I am in the camp of looking at potential trade opportunities which improve our current roster going into 2024. If there is a way to improve the roster, the team needs to capitalize on the opportunity.

If KAT were a near perfect 1B, we wouldn't have traded for Gobert.

KAT seems to be practicing with the team...you can see it in the video here. He was hugging Ant when Finch announced

Guessing he did individual work on the side, not live 5-on-5 work
