Though we definitely could use two Al Horford's. -- We don't need two Al Horford Threads.
So, locking this one. -- Go to the first one, linked below.:

Ana Horford is about to join the Starting Lineup with Scal and Frank here at 9.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Re: Al Horford "Fountain of Youth" Thread
I've always said Al can give you the same impact winning play as Tim Duncan did later in his career. Al never came close to peaking at Duncan's level, but Duncan down the stretch of his career was still a really, really important player for those Spurs teams....In many ways Al has the exact same impact plus he can stretch the floor a bit. So not as big as Timmy, but the floor spacing levels that out.

I can’t find the words to describe how much I love Al.
Last night was the first time I’ve ever seen him so visibly pissed off, and it was arousing.

Also, Al doing this is a point for advanced stats. They painted him as quite good in OKC last year, and as an elite impact player this year.

Re: Al Horford "Fountain of Youth" Thread
What a game for him. Maybe I'm living in the moment, but is he our third best player?
You're talking about a guy who's defending Giannis (best PF in the league) really well. Embiid (the best or second best C in the league and easily the most physically dominant) will tell you that Horford defends him as well as anyone. For all the love Tatum got for his defense on Durant (the gold standard for scorers at the SF spot right now), Horford got switched onto him plenty and was tremendous as well. That's the toughest defensive covers at the SF, PF and C spots.
On offense, he shoots the 3. He has good touch inside around the basket. Passes the ball really well in the half court. Can bring the ball up the floor in transition himself sometimes.

Re: Al Horford "Fountain of Youth" Thread
Al is like a man on a mission. He wants a title so bad …. I think he wants it more than anyone else in NBA right now…..it just exudes from him how badly he wants it. I predicted this series would be a bloodbath but it has exceeded my wildest expectations. Game 5 is going to be ugly. Celtics can’t assume any home court advantage whatsoever. The Bucks are the defending champs and the Celtics have to be more than just better. They have to follow Al’s lead and play like there is no tomorrow.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Re: Al Horford "Fountain of Youth" Thread
I got no problem with picking up Al"s full option for next year. He makes the rest of the team so much better. He is the true captain of the team. I would also tell him that he has a 10 mil a year deal, one year at a time, to play for the next 2 -3 years and after that an open contract for a big man's coach for as long as he wants it.

Like KG, Al should have been a Celtic his entire career.

Re: Al Horford "Fountain of Youth" Thread
Soooo...Al Horford is a god. Playoffs YTD:
15.9/9.4/2.8/1.1/1.0 in 35 MPG. 57/54/80 splits. +20 net rating, 7.7 BPM(!), .228 WS/48
I mean, he is legit having the best playoffs of his career, at age 35. Just insane.

Re: Al Horford "Fountain of Youth" Thread
Seems like they're leaving him open, not just at the 3 but from the elbows to about 5 feet in.
Giannis and Lopez are trying to rotate to challenge shots on any penetration so Horford is getting real good looks. But he's nailing them, on top of playing good defense.

Yes I still want Beal.. But no way should we trade Horford. He is just too good+important and shows no signs of decline.. if anything he is getting younger

2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.
