Also MSG is currently airing the Knicks Jazz game from earlier this year. Markkenen is a nice player, but he’s being treated like a franchise player in some of these trade proposals and he’s not that. Also, on this team he’s basically be a third option at best, as opposed to the numbers he’s put up as Utahs first option. The juice won’t be worth the squeeze.

I think Randle is better because of his ability to create for others is better, but Markkanen is really efficient and would fit in seamlessly on offense. I don't think it's a matter of trading Randle + 5 picks or whatever, but the Jazz have no reason to trade for Randle if they're trading Markkanen so it's really 5 picks for Markkanen and filler.

Why are we trading Randle a better player with assets attached to get bridges ??? And you lost all credibility when your listing OG as a backup and thus paying him $35 mil a year off the bench ???

Basically it’s if we keep every single player and pick we’re over the second apron. Mind you, iHart might leave for greener pastures and we don’t have to think of it. For that matter the same could happen to OG. Then we don’t have to keep Precious at 6 million. That alone brings us below the line. And you know we’re currently looking to move our picks. If I were a betting man I’d say there’s something like a 1/10 chance we end up over that second apron as currently constructed.

It's unlikely to happen because OG doesn't seem like the type to push his bag over 1 more year and extend his next chance to hit the market... BUT him doing what Hart did last year and opting in to this year and then extending after that would avoid a lot of our complications

josh hart decision was something like opt in and extend 5 year 94 mil. ($19aav) or opt out and sign for 4 year 81 mil($20aav)

og decision is opt in and extend 5 year 140 mil ($28aav) or opt out and and get 4 year $140(if not more) $35 aav

Bobby Marks was on with CP.... think the biggest thing Marks said was Bojan is basically useless as a contract once OG and Ihart are signed and the draft picks are used...

Basically reiterating the Knicks have to make a move if they want to before OG and Ihart become official..

Knicks can wait to make them official to buy them some time to use Bojan, if he agrees to push back the guarantee date..

Another thing, they basically have to make a decision on trading Mitch BEFORE coming to an agreement with Ihart, now he is CAA so that should help..

Next 3 weeks are going to be interesting. Its likely going to heat up quickly right after finals.

Timing is not an issue.

Because if we make a trade aggregating salary before re-signing IHart and OG, we will be hard-capped in the second apron.

In any scenario, we can not surpass the second apron if we plan to aggregate salaries in a trade.

Great scorer but soft as tissue paper. Definitely not a fit on Thibs' Knicks.

Markkenen put up numbers but those numbers did not lead to wins for Utah (or Cleveland).

Lets say it's Randle for Lauri or Bridges... why are we attaching so many picks like he is Tobias Harris. Randle was performing at All-Star level until that freak injury. The disrespect around the NBA, media and fans on Randle is ridiculous.

1. He is a 2x All-NBA player
2. He is averages 25/10
3. He is a willing passer
4. His contract is at a great value especially this offseason where teams need to start to make hard decisions about the aprons

So again... why do we have to drop multiple FRPs and assets?!

So you're saying that even if we tell iHart and OG to hold off on signing extensions and Bojan moving his deadline date.. we can't fit the MLE? I figured that's what he meant by timing issue. I think we all know that we will be hitting the aprons once we get OG and iHart to sign extensions.

Mitchell Robinson to Memphis for Luke Kennard and the 9th pick.

Use the 9th pick and others to trade for a star that becomes available.

Here's what I would do this offseason:

Make at least 1 of the 2 first round draft picks

Use Bi Annual Exception to bring over Rokas Jokubaitis. We need to **** or get off the pot on this guy. Let's see what he's got. Can't be much worse than Charlie Brown Jr.

Free agency veteran depth signings: Gordon Hayward, Dario Saric, Buddy Hield (not all)

Bring back Precious on a 1-2 year deal.

If iHart leaves - sign Jonas Valanciunas. Durable and tough player.

Sign D'Anthony Melton with MLE. If this fails, try to sign Chris Paul as backup point.

Longshot big moves: Mikal Bridges

Extreme longshot big moves: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Desmond Bane

Possible big move: Donovan Mitchell

Likely big move: Brandon Ingram (eh - only because he's always hurt)

If we trade for Ingram then I offer Mitchell Robinson, Bogdanovic, 3 firsts for Brandon Ingram and filler.

If Bogdanovic can't be combined with another player in a trade then you have to consider Robinson and DiVicenzo plus 2 firsts for Ingram. Less enthusiastic about that one.

17 is probably the highest. More likely 19. Maybe a little higher in this draft, but it's hard with two picks this late in the first round.
