Dunn going to LAC probably takes them out of the Lowry running. Suns also said to be interested.

My favorite on this list would be Grant Williams, assuming the price is too high for Jones or Murphy.
If we can trade Reed plus a weak 1st for Williams I'd probably pull the trigger. Williams only makes $13m this year so we could get him and still stay under the 1st Apron.
I like portis myself flat out dog good 3 shooter

It basically comes down to whether he can get on the court. When he's played, he's still been a good player. If he's willing to come back on a min deal, we should for sure offer it because it's no risk-medium upside. Not only do we badly need depth at the 4, but Covington has still been effective in his limited minutes and has a history of being high impact next to Embiid. It all comes down to an injury that we ultimately know very little about.
jonjames is a signature bet welcher.

Lebron is reportedly pushing for the Lakers to get him. I would love if Lowry could recruit him here, but seems like his preference is LA.

Still a decent amount of guards left. Will be interesting to see if any/how many slip through as vet mins. Alec Burks? Talen Horton-Tucker? Malik Beasley? Dinwiddie? Any of them would be a huge addition.
Not so many of those options at F unfortunately. Probably only Taurean Prince or Kyle Anderson, unless you can talk yourself into Hayward.
Might not actually help this year, but JT Thor intrigues me as a potential developmental PF.

I could see Lowry making some ground on him being a 1 yr deal here. However, he’s going to be approaching 36 for his next contract and he’s def not getting any kind of big and longterm commitment. Time to ring chase.

It would be pretty amazing if you could get him in on a deal for the remaining cap. I guess you could even pull a S&T for MLE type money using BBall.
I assume he's going somewhere else via S&T though. Lakers for D'Lo and something? Clippers for Norm Powell and something? Warriors as part of the Klay deal?

100% Grant Williams. Tough hard nosed. Be a great switch defender for us. Charlotte is not going anywhere so sending Reed and a pick should be a no brainer to them in compiling assetsArsenal wrote:Potential forwards to trade Paul Reed for that won't add too much salary since we're hard capped at the 1st Apron:

I could see us make a push for Chris Boucher. Very surprised he wasn't traded at the deadline last February. He has history with Nick Nurse. He's actually what I envision Paul Reed turning into if we just stay patient and keep him on the team.

These guys you are are lusting after for pf is proving my point earlier in this thread about how weak this roster is going to be outside our big three. So Eric Gordon is starting for this team or Oubre? And say we got Grant Williams. Are you telling me the Sixers starting five is as good as the Celtic? Its not. The Celtics are all that matters!

That's a pretty unrealistic bar to clear in one off-season given where they were.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
Losing Melton really hurts, IMO.
We really need a low usage G that specializes in defense. The other Gs on the roster are bad fits next to Maxey in that starting lineup.
Caleb Martin is a must-sign, at this point. He can play both SG and SF. He can defend and he can hit shots. He's got size. He is a proven playoff beast. He should be our final piece.

It might be crazy to say this, but you know who the one guy who could help tie this roster together is? Draymond.
I know he’s a self caricature at this point, but he checks every needed box except shooting. Also I don’t know how they match his 25M.
Just a thought.

Agree 100% on Caleb Martin. He's a great between George and Maxey. If George is starting at the 4 then Martin fits well at the 3. I suggested him or Haywood Highsmith from Miami. Highsmith being the consolation prize if we miss out on Martin.
Guard wise, it's looking like McCain may be relied upon as a rookie. Lonnie Walker is still out there too.

Anyone know how much LAC gave him? Cause he's that defensive guard we need.Doesn't make huge sense to me for LAC given that Westbrook exercised his option and they have Harden and Hyland. Oh welp.
