I know it can be hard for some people to stay on topic without taking things personal but you don't strike me as that kind of person....although I have been known to be wrong before. So just the facts please tell me where I was wrong with what happened with Embiid and the French government?
Cameroon, where Embiid has ancestry, is and has been a partial if not largely French territory. Because of that, it's why they would be willing to give him citizenship as a Frenchman. All of that is easy enough to take a minute to look up.
Now him going out of his way to ask for French citizenship is on him and Macron granting that was his choice. Embiid deciding against playing for France was his call and whatever his reasons were... well... his. Embiid choosing to partake in childish behavior seems to be something he enjoys even though he could be above it as a representative of the United States national team. But I suppose some behaviors are hard to put aside.
And you're speaking from a point of ignorance about me as you don't know me any more than I know you. Assumptions are free though, so do as you see fit. I don't take things personally. That's a waste of time and energy.

First of all I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I never ever claimed you were ignorant. You stated my post was ignorant. First shot fired by you. You can actually look it up. Now you want to play the wounded poster role.
Secondly you basically rewrote what I stated originally. So what France used to occupy Cameroon. Giving citizenship to his family is the very least France could have done. But even with all of this it does not change the fact that the French government saw a chance to benefit from Embiid. So they fast tracked everything only to have Embiid say no thank you. And now the fans are all in their feelings.
So I want to study engineering. I apply to Boise state college they say well Mr. Eyeamok your credentials are great come up and see us. I come up to see them and do the song and dance and say i really want to attend college here. They say we like you you like us. We are going to extend you a letter of acceptance and a full scholarship. Yes I'm set.
A week later I'm chilling at home and I get a letter from MIT engineering school. Hey Mr. Eyeamok we have reviewed your SAT scores and your overall grades. We would like to extend you an invite to attend MIT to study engineering with a full scholarship.
My cod what do? Boise State or MIT ? Take into account that if I choose MIT, a premier school for engineering, everywhere I go when I run in to someone from Boise State I will be booed for my decision.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.
