Honestly, I don't even care about the CL place. I just want to win something. It's been an eternity.

It would be fitting if the Kane curse is also lifted for Tottenham in the same season Kane wins his first championship.

Congratz Baph you owe me a beer for writing it into existence.

The fact it was an own goal which decided this game, is so fitting.

Ange should leave though. You can't forget losing 21 times in the league.
Amorim is also hinting at leaving.

Worth mentioning that Spurs are now the tied second most successful team in this competition's history, only behind EL beasts Sevilla. We're tied with Liverpool, Juventus, Inter and Atletico with 3 wins. Not bad company to be in.

It has lost its luster but UEFA Cup used to be really tough competition. I remember when Gala won it back in 2000 they had to beat late 90s Milan, prime Leeds, Dortmund team that had won the CL few years back, and soon to to be invincible Arsenal. Legendary Parma teams of 90s were also showing off there.

It's a great competition, imo. I'm not just saying that because Spurs just won it. You are absolutely correct that it was stronger in the past, though. I remember some pretty incredible fixtures. I remember the 1998 final was Lazio vs. Inter for example, while Lazio had Nedved and Nesta. Meanwhile Inter had Zanetti, Simeone, Zamorano and freaking R9.

I'm going to the trophy parade later today. Got my train ticket to London. I feel liberated and hope everyone has a great day, whoever you support.

Not to mention the Parma squad that won in 1999:
Buffon
Thuram Cannavaro Sensini
Vanoli D.Baggio Veron Boghossian Fuser
Crespo Chiesa
*Asprilla and Fiore off the bench

The fact that third place teams from the UCL groups no longer join the tournament definitely eliminates some top teams from the competition, but we can still get some quality finals sprinkled in. Atalanta vs Leverkusen last year was a dream matchup that saw Bayer try and go for the treble. Other than that though it's been pretty bunk lately.

Chelsea wins it 4-1 but Betis had their chances, probably should have put it out of reach early second half.

Enzo Fernandez might be worth 100m after all.
