Brook is now the 3rd highest paid Buck. 37 by the end of the year and in the final year of a contract. Been the healthiest Buck, Played starter minutes night in night out. Still shoots the ball well, still defends the rim. I guess what I am thinking about is a highly discounted next contract doesn't seem particularly likely to me, especially if our window looks to be closing a bit as currently constructed. Just used a Bucks legend, and we understand that, to sneak under the 2nd apron, and there are two rotational players that are on one year vet mins. Replacing just that with quality is going to be tough in the offseason. That is all before you get to needing a guy that is more mobile if the perimeter defense remains with extra needs for him to cover. Personally we feel done dancing this deadline but I could see a motivation to find something younger and cheaper and locked in a year or two that does some but not all of Brook.

Going to be highly underwhelmed (that’s a nice way of putting it) if there isn’t more today.

The Smart stuff makes no sense to me. Dude has missed over 60% of the season already with injuries, just came back from a month and a half absence and went 0-6 in his return. We are not in a position to be gambling on him staying healthy and proving real impact this year, especially if its costs us a big.

Big forward (e.g. Cam J) or athletic C (Bob Will, Claxton maybe, etc) should be the goal imo.

Unfortunately I think it’s all in Doc’s hands now to put it all back together and I have little faith in that regard. But I do think Ham, Joerger, Buckner and Prunty are a viable brain trust so there’s a silver lining.

I’m a numbers guy, any update on what number Kuzma will wear since he obviously can’t wear 33?
77 lol

Thats hilarious
Don't like Kuzma but I hope it works out. I really don't understand why they gave up on a 20 year rookie? Not broken up about it but very mnd bottling.

Brook/Pat/Marjon/Draft capital they can have Livingston too if they want so we can clear a spot for Rollins or a buyout

Cam Johnson/Ziare Williams/Dayron Sharpe

We would no longer be the nba retirement home

I do like this move a lot for what’s left out there.

Sounds cool but if we are going to engage in that much turnover i wish we had done it this off-season so that we had more time to adjust

This trade was a pure get under the second apron move and not a move to win a championship.

If we could have gotten last year's playoff Middleton, we had as good of a chance as anyone to win a champioship. Now we have none.

Except for two games, Middleton looked good-good enough to be a third wheel with his passing and IQ.

Kyle Kuzma has neither the shooting skills, passing skills and IQ even at his peak, let alone his putrid play this season.

And to think that no team would even touch PC to help us get under the apron.

Yeah, if Smart is the other move. I’m out. Again, our FO’s perception of what players talent is versus reality is strikingly apparent. We get tunnel vision and refuse to look at other angles. How many seasons have we heard about Horst’s infatuation with Kuzma?

LeBron and AD dragged that kid to a ring and people are behaving as if he were some huge part of their success and that he’s going to magically turn into a player he never truly was in the first place.

I wanted to trade Khris, but this isn’t it. Would’ve rather held onto him forever than watch this current development.

Something like this would be the perfect way to finish this deadline. Bobby & Pat plus the 31 first for Hunter makes perfect sense.

1) Opens a spot to sign Rollins
2) Adds the wing defender we desperately need
3) Moves Kuz into the 6th man role where he can be a primary scorer
4) Leans the team into more small ball lineups with Hunter/Kuz/Giannis all playing together which is the only we are going to compete with Boston or NY

Sims is a fine enough stop-gap guy that fits the athletic Center need. I'm not gambling on hospital dudes like Smart and Robert Williams. You need another perimeter guy that can give you some offense when Kuzma inevitably shrinks in the moment. And of course, this is where I'm terrified that they might look at dudes like DeRozan....

How has his health been lately?

If there’s something that works out to get Hunter and Capela for Brook and Bobby/whatever is needed to make it, I’d be good with that.

Lessort is a 29 year old playing in Europe who has shown zero interest in coming overseas. Weird for those two guys to be involved at all in the trade but who knows why they did it behind the scenes.

As for MKE as contenders, we're not really there yet, but there is always a chance with Giannis and Dame that we could get hot. The Heat looked like trash 2 years ago in the regular season as a play-in team, almost lost the play-in, then got red hot. With G&D there is no reason that can't happen, although unlikely.

Half the time its just about who is playing the best basketball in May/June and we've shown flashes at times.
