The tank was getting cooked already we played ourselves out of top 5 maybe even top 7. Don’t like throwing in the Indy pick and the strong possibility Ingram walking unless we pay big money to an injury riddled 27 year old. But in a vacuum, he’s a better talent/shot maker we’re gonna have over anyone we draft this year. Indy pick is going to be a low, another Jakobe or Gradey guy that doesn’t move the needle. I’m not mad at it.

There has to be protections on the IND pick. Or at the very least, it has to be the lesser of our own and the IND pick.

Have to assume Ingram is coming for ~$30m per, because otherwise we're going into the season as a tax team next year. So contract is fine. I don't like giving the pick up.

I think he'll get more than Quickley, who 35 mil/yr, if it's 30 mil, that's a steal

This smells like the Dragic deal. Masai overplayed his hand and had to save face by getting something for Bruce Brown since he apparently could have gotten a first last year. No shade to Ingram, who is a good player, and still youngish. But we traded a 1st for KO (and Ochai), Brown could have gotten a 1st last year, and now we add a 1st and a 2nd for Ingram's Bird Rights?

I have a sneaky suspicion that it muhht be lotto protected. If Indy falls in the lotto we get it otherwise it goes to the pelicans. Lotto pick next year has a lot more value then Ingram especially if there are not garuntee that he has signed an extension.

Yeah, that 1st rounder could have been anything, maybe even as good as Brandon Ingram

This is some serious coping, I will revisit this thread when it blows up in our face next year after Ingram plays yet another season of less than 60 games.

You really think we were just gonna only add players younger than 22 or something?

We are gonna go into next year with a solid starting 5 (IQ/RJ/Ingram/Barnes/Poeltl) plus a top 5-10 pick, plus Jakobe/Shead/Mogbo/etc.

How you think that is anything the same as Fred/Pascal/OG/Barnes and no bench I will never understand. Just inability to use nuance, I suppose.
