Wright PROVED he can ball in this system over 10-12 games. He was a resounding positive in the lineup. Arguably better than anyone outside of starters and McBride/Robinson. And he has the clear length advantage over McBride

i'm sorry. i **** with delon wright. i really do.

people really saw some alexey shved silly season minutes and think he's better than he is? he's really not who you think he is on offense. he was an innings eater in a pinch down the stretch while we assured playoff readiness.

if we needed to revisit deuce's role for some reason, fair. but right now... we should be happy we don't need to rely on this man as a scorer and facilitator.

I think Wright should be the 8th man who gets 8-10 minutes but it's probably going to be Payne.

Haliburton gets all the media worship, but Siakam has been good this post season. And he's one of the few ppl who have the skill, strength and athleticism to go at OG. But OG is arguably the best non big defender in the NBA & is the perfect fit for Brunson at floor general. That matchup is going to be really good

neither are a great choice. payne if you need some facilitation and can live with his defense. he has a magic spark factor that sometimes works... and he can be a big negative when not.

wright will be steadier and a plus on defense. no doubt. but the offense might suffer if you need the ball in his hands a lot. you're hoping he can maybe get hot on c&s opportunities. but expecting more than that is setting up for disappointment.

and again, i like dude and am glad we have him.

all that said, as we get deeper into the playoffs. rules and structure may have to go out the window at times and guys will just have to get in there and make a play or two, system be damned.

Yeah this is silly.

It's the playoffs.

A 7-man rotation should be fine so long as #6 and #7 play 20+ minutes. Perhaps Cam can give us 5 in the first half and that brings all the starters to roughly 38 minutes per game.

Brunson's ability to control tempo will be key. So will our offensive rebounding. If we force them to dedicate bodies to the defensive glass, this will break their tempo. It'll be an interesting point of tension - should we crash the offensive glass, or be more conservative and run back on defense to put numbers behind the ball.

Disagree, Thibs has the starters ready for these minutes. Don’t want to see us making lineup mistakes out of fear of the Pacers depth.

gang. it's the playoffs. and the war they trained for. not even the minutes preservation discussion from the regular season. we past all that.

deuce and mitch largely account for those 40-50 non-starter minutes. that aside, we gotta hawk our food down.

probably more likely to see hukporti get spot minutes than some of these guards. that's not where we really need the help. as good as mitch has been, he probably (wisely) is only going to be able to play so many minutes. if we need more in the frontcourt and hukporti can give it a go... wouldn't be shocked.

OG defends Siakam quite well. If we could slow down Siakam and Hali, which I think we can, it's going to put lots of pressure their "others". We got this.

He's been good, but if you look at their playoff scoring, they're doing it by committee because of who they have played. If Siakam or Nembhard have a tough series they will struggle to score, all that stuff they do is cute, until they meet someone that can stop even 20% of it, then it turns into can your guy get a bucket against a set defense. I don't think they can, and like you said, Siakam having OG on him takes away a lot of the stuff they do if we're switching.

What it comes down to is guarding against the same thing every team has done. They will get KAT to switch on to Haliburton and then try and break down the D. Make Haliburton be a scorer instead of a distributor and stay at home. Indiana wants you to help so they can kick it around. That is their whole game. Stay locked on like they did in game 6.

If we are to assume that both the Cavs and Bucks were damaged goods.... we should beat the Pacers easily

But knowing this team has an issue with handling success, we have a penchant to give away games and get out to bad starts

Wouldn't be shocked to go 7 and lose even if we look like the superior team on paper

My concern is KAT on Turner in that sense. I would much rather have KAT on Siakam and make Siakam a jump shooter because Siakam can't take KAT into the post with his size. Then KAT trying to hedge and recover or playing drop against the pacers.

I don't think Thibs is going to switch the Haliburton screen and have KAT guard him.

OG defends everyone well  I've never seen a player that strong and athletic and that agile and those instincts. I don't think he gets enough love for all defensive teams & DPOY consideration.

It's going to be a dog fight with those two. I believe IND was trying to get a lot of switch of a smaller defender on to Siakam last year so he can go to work. I have to look at the highlights but here's the player tracking for who defended him last year before OG got hurt
