We all know what we have to wait for as Bulls fans, we just can't say it.

We do have
11 warranted contracts
1 player who'll likely pick up his player option (Carter)
1 player who is a restricted free agent, who we'll try to resign (Giddey)
1 st. rd. pick (yeaterday akquired
That is a total of 14 players
If AKME had in mind to resign upcoming free agent Tre Jones for the 15th and last roster spot when selling (more or less) our 2nd rd pick I'm fine with this move.
Why would the Bulls want to change nothing on a team that finished below .500?
Williams, Phillips and Terry have not shown enough to be guaranteed roster spots. Neither has Carter. We are carrying multiple free agents (Vuc, Collins, Huerter, Ayo, Coby) who will need cheaper replacements or new contracts. We need to be bringing talent through the door.
And you can trade a 2nd round pick for future picks or stash them on a 2 way contract. This is just base greed.
It ain't the right time for changes. We do have a lot of outrunning contracts. All could be usefull in trades by the trade deadline or next summer for sign and trades. Makes no sense to cut these warranted contracts now. We're therefore handcuffed for some months.

I would honestly prefer that to the truth. At least if he just came out and said it. Then the owners wouldn't be lying to our face, pretending to be doing anything other than selling tickets and getting a couple playoff games a season. But no actual investment into winning. They cut corners everywhere there's a penny to be saved. Coaching including shooting, player development, drafting, literally everywhere.

Then you trade to consolidate or for a future pick.

Tell me this team cares about winning? Someone? Anyone? This team is killing me with their apparent lack of urgency or desire to field a winning team.

This in itself is an absolute nothing burger. It really is. This as a whole though is absolutely infuriating. It is just another piece of the jigsaw puzzle that shows the whole picture. It’s funny because Reinsdorf isn’t always cheap just stupid choices when he isn’t.
