At some point this has to get into the players’ heads, right?

Re: 2025 49ers Season
Man, Bosa abused Banks in this past game. Put him on the ground repeatedly. DL overall played really well. Just missed several sacks (I was surprised during the game at how elusive Rattler was), got consistent pressure, played the run well generally. Really excited to see this unit continue to develop. The DBs struggled a bit more in this one, particularly Green. But if our young players can continue to grow and develop - and stay healthy - throughout the season, this D could be downright nasty by the time the playoffs come around.

Don’t know if Purdy practiced or threw on Thursday or Friday but they now list him as questionable listing the toe.

Think they are trying to be as cautious as possible with Brock especially with what happened to Burrow. Playoff game I think he is playing but no reason to push it this quick

Re: 2025 49ers Season
They absolutely have to make changes to this training staff. They brought the hockey guy in 2019 to use sports science to reduce player injuries and clearly that has not helped.
I'll say it again I don't blame the training staff if a dude's knee bends in a way it shouldn't and explodes.
I do put soft tissue injuries on the training staff because those are the ones they are supposed to prevent and the amount of soft tissue injuries this team has had is criminal. I refuse to believe that Lynch is the unluckiest GM alive and has assembled a team full of people who are more prone to injury than any other team.
Seriously how do you lose two players to soft tissue injuries during an in season practice that we all know aren't exactly physically demanding? Two rookies mind so it's not like these were aging vets on the wrong side of 30 with bodies breaking down but two guys that should be in prime physical shape.

Agree 100% and it is killing our team. But don't expect it to change soon. I heard Maiocco interviewed recently and he said that management had looked into this and concluded that they weren't doing anything wrong. Results be damned I guess.Jikkle wrote:They absolutely have to make changes to this training staff. That's a big bummer. I figured Jennings could have had a big day working against the banged-up Arizona secondary.

Re: 2025 49ers Season
Jones started and got the team to a winning drive.
Kyle runs the whole playbook for him so they will have him throw those in-cuts to Pearsall like the ones Purdy threw to Aiyuk.
Maybe a little too predictable and the interception which could have been game-killing he threw before Pearsall cut and the safety saw the ball way before Pearsall.
But the other issue is, Jones' accuracy isn't the best, a couple of receptions the WRs had the reach back. Very little RAC yards. It could be the WRs not separating enough but it could also be accuracy and timing of the passes doesn't hit them in the breadbasket while they're running at full speed.
Really need Purdy and other injured players back but I can see with the record they have that they may want to give extra time off to Purdy and others not on IR, so that they don't have injuries which linger all season.

Kyle said that initial tests don't indicate an ACL injury for Bosa.
That's certainly encouraging, but we're far from out of the woods.

I'm not holding my breath, I am expecting some kind of season ending. But if we can even get like a 6-8 week injury that would be a bullet dodged

Bosa was seen walking around with a fabric sleeve on his knee so I tend to believe it'll be a sprain of some kind rather than a full-blown tear.

Re: 2025 49ers Season
I'm happy Rickey Pearsall is continuing the momentum he picked up toward the end of last season. He's looking like the WR we all hoped he could be. So far this year he is 3rd in yards, 2nd in receiving first downs, 1st in first down catch % with 87.5% (14 of 16) of his catches resulting in first downs. 4th in yards per reception, He's an efficient killer, he's getting open all day with super crisp routes.
Moody wouldn't have made those kicks..
Mcaffery leads the nfl in touches, i dont like that. i know they have a lot of injuries to their core weapons, but get the other RBs some touches for the love of god. The temptation to run CMC into the ground is too alluring to kyle.

Re: 2025 49ers Season
Word is that it is an ACL tear for Bosa. Clean tear, so prognosis for recovery is good, but just brutal news for the season. Arguably the player on defense we could least afford to lose.

Re: 2025 49ers Season
Torn ACL for Bosa confirmed.
What a freakin gut punch man. This team has horrific injury luck.
This one sure is a season altering injury. Just as we were feeling good about the team, and were set to start getting some guys back. Football gods were like, nah can't have that in San Francisco lets go ahead and knock them back down several notches.
I imagine they will hit the trade market for another pass rusher. Not sure whats out there to be had, but its probably not real promising. Even if they were willing to give up substantial draft capital for a notable guy, they probably wouldn't be able to fit another big contract into the cap.
As for Bosa himself, it obviously sucks. You also gotta wonder how he's going to be moving forward. When he gets back on the field next season, he'll have repaired ACL's on both knees. While he came back from the first one fine, he's now like 5 years older and both his knees have gotten shredded.
Sometimes, I hate football.

Jesus. The all-infirmary team. That's an awful break for Bosa and the Niners.

The good news is Robinson is back at WR. Once BA is healthy, this is a very good WR group.

Re: 2025 49ers Season
Pretty sure Bosa knew that it was torn, even though testing yesterday was inconclusive. Shown on broadcast, looking toward his fam and did the thumbs down walking to the tent to get checked. Likely told some teammates as well. Only real positive outlook is that it's early enough that he'll likely be ready for start of 2026 season.
