I like him too, but the draft isn't today, and he hasn't gone 1st so .....hold up a bit lol.

He will go top 3 though.

I like going for shock value lol

He finishes with 19-13-2 in 20 minutes today. Get's to the line 10 times.

Done deal.Wall goes third to the nets.

“The guys on Kentucky's team are absolute animals,” said LSU’s Bo Spencer. “Cousins. Patterson. All of them are physical. All of them are big and wide. They're hard to get around. I'm so impressed with Cousins because he's just a freshman, and he plays like he's been playing on the collegiate level forever. They're just so big, and they really want the ball.”

I don't think he's going that high, but I hope you're correct, since that pushes more talent down to the Wolves, who will most likely get screwed yet again in the lottery.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

As far as just stating Cousins is a bull in a china shop, sit back and let this sink in. Jerry Meyer a High School Basketball scout for rivals and son of a legendary coach out of South Dakota State(won like 800 games) stated he never saw a more skilled player then Cousins. Pure skills only. Said skil set wise, he was a combo of Moses Malone meets Magic Johnson. No joke at all. He actually has solid ball handling and passing ability, just that this team doesn't need that and the college defense doesn't allow it with zones. In the NBA he will break a big man off the dribble.

Boozer measured at 6'9.5 with shoes at the pre-draft camp. I think Cousins is 6'11.

on the bulls board, i compared his skill-set to a fat webber and was dismissed. people just dont know what he's capable of doing with the ball becuz he only plays near the paint for kentucky.
they'd rather compare him to dampier or perkins.

He's a cross between Moses, Webber and Boozer.

Here's Jerry Meyer on Cuzz the high school player..

An impressively physical presence, Cousins has the ability to dominate the interior. He can score in traffic and rebound in a crowd. Defensively, he is extremely difficult to score over. Not limited to being effective around the basket, Cousins can also operate on the perimeter. Perhaps his most underrated skill is his passing ability. Maturing emotionally is his biggest challenge in the development of his game.

There are flare-ups,” Meyer said before adding, “That’s better than being soft and won’t compete. . . . He plays with a chip on his shoulder. He doesn’t mind getting physical. It’s just a matter of controlling and channeling (the anger).”

Well he has moved up to 4 on DX. I think by now we all know what the 400 lb gorilla is. He is definitely top 2 worthy in terms of offensive skills, so it just comes down to the character and off the court issues. I have to be honest, the tv psychiatrist in me would be terrified to select him. Is anyone really that confident that once he gets his payday that he will play hard. I'm not. Could he be the second coming of Zach Randolph? His talent is becoming more and more undeniable by the day though. It has been a while since I have even seen a team consistently throw the ball into a post player in college.

I don't see the Zach compairisons at all outside of the baby fat..Cuzz is a more than willing passer and a great post defender. Exact opposite of Randolph..+ Cuzz is 6'10 280.

People are starting to *get it*

You might be watching the SEC player of the year.

Not John Wall.

DeMarcus Cousins.

I know. A lot of so-called basketball experts already have penciled in Wall as the SEC player of the year, the national player of the year, the one-and-done player of the millennium.

Meanwhile, Cousins continues to make a case that he, not Wall, may be Kentucky's real MVP.

Before you accuse me of home-town bias in favor of the Birmingham native, consider his monster numbers, which today earned him his third SEC freshman-of-the-week award.

Cousins has put up a double-double for six straight games -- the first UK player to do so since Chris Mills in 1989.

He has 14 double-doubles for the season, the most in the SEC and the most by a Wildcat since Jamaal Magloire in 2000.

Cousins is seventh in the SEC in scoring (16.4 ppg), second in rebounding (10 rpg), second in field-goal percentage (.542), fifth in blocks (1.87) and first in offensive rebounds (4.35). And just about all of his numbers have increased in conference games.

He's tied for the UK team lead in scoring with Wall, and he leads the team in rebounding and blocks.

Need more? Cousins is doing all this in a mere 21.3 minutes a game.

He's so valuable, UK coach John Calipari has been complaining that Cousins gets fouls because of his size and reputation as a hot-head while he's actually taking a physical beating.

True or not, Cal's done a better job defending Cousins than just about any of the players that've faced the freshman on the floor.

So allow me to make a request of all the people who vote on postseason awards.

Keep an open mind, and keep your eye on DeMarcus Cousins.

People have got it all along. No one has said Cousins has not had a great year. But, that does not necessarily mean he should be picked in the top 3.

It was not so long ago watching hoops lead a lot of people to think Sean May and Adam Morrison should be picked ahead of Andrew Bynum and Brandon Roy.

Watching actual hoops had the world convinced Orlando was (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to pass on Emeka Okafor.

There is a lot more to analyzing a draft than watching a game and seeing who has the prettiest numbers.

Then again, people also thought the Hawks were crazy for picking Marvin Williams over Chris Paul and they were right. Favors is a good prospect and Cousins has issues and high bust potential, but he's just a better prospect at this point imo.

Maybe. I have no problem with people thinking Cousins is a better prospect than Favors. My main problem is with Sid and his daily Hall of Fame induction speech for Cousins.

Bobcats have always been one draft spot away from a decent pick

move them up once each year and they get:
Paul
Dwight
Aldridge

just bad luck i guess (assuming of course they would take those players)
