You guys save your TPE for another deal.

They are expirings and if it gets us their two picks I am pretty content with that.

IMO, the CAVs are giving up too much for that Dallas top 20 protected 1st pick that lasts 5 years until it turns into a second round pick. Cavs already let the Lebron 16.5 million TPE expire and don't need another one. I would have to agree with TheOUTLAW and Rise Against here.

Wilson Chandler would be a great guy to have as our small forward if we get a Lamb/Beal at SG. That's a heck of a backcourt/wing trio compared to what we have now. If we got Chandler, we could also explore drafting Jared Sullinger or another big.

Marc Stein: Only three teams currently have needed cap space to test Denver's Chandler resolve: Pacers ($14+ mil), Kings ($9+ mil) and Cavs ($7.1 mil)

I would love to see this team sign Chandler to a 2 or 3 year deal if he would come here. Of course we would have to include him in any deal with Sessions to acquire that Lakers pick!

That's the hold up with the Lakers and all the teams they are talking to. Minny is also interested in Chandler. I expect the Cavs to be the team to make the offer.

Well he could basically show up and start here. We have a huge hole named Casspi at the SF position, with him and Gee on the court we would be very athletic at the wing positions, something that I think Byron would have to be interested in.

Lakers are bargaining with you and Minnesota most likely on trying to get something done on the Sessions-Beasley upgrade.

Got a link, or something you heard? Not questioning validity just curious if any particulars are out there.

With Beasley there's still discussion of a Walton plus 2 1sts deal. Latest one I don't have a link (I have no reason to make anything up), but for all it's worth Broussard mentioned that the Sessions pursuit didn't go up during the all-star break.

My guess?

Lazenby released a tweet that mentioned L.A. wanted to get Felton and Beasley and that was their target. Now most would say that L.A. is trying to save cash but it's important to not forget that Barnes is a major component of their bench. We can't really throw Murphy-Barnes into deals and Ebanks might be the starter at SF next year.

All in all Sessions is on hold for now. Wait until the deadline on this one. Considering the Magic pay his contract for two years, perhaps Arenas can be L.A.'s backup guard and Goudelock becomes a part of discussions.

Lot of interesting stuff in Laker land. We're all following the Rondo, Houston, Beasley news with great interest. No idea what's going to happen.

Raptors fan here.

Cleveland owns the Miami 2012 first round pick (from the LBJ deal) and their own first round pick.

Just wondering..what would it take to obtain the Miami pick? It looks like it's going to be 27+ at best. Maybe a Toronto second round pick + cash so Cleveland doesn't have to take a guaranteed contract? Just wondering?

Cleveland will have plenty of cap space next year and I'm pretty sure we'd like to keep that pick or use it somehow to trade up.

Cleveland has Miami's 2013 1st not 2012

Cleveland only has the right to swap picks with the Heat this year which of course won't happen since the Heat will obviously have the better record.

Depending if protection levels are met the Cavs will most likely have the Heat's first round pick in 2013 and 2015.

Apparently the Lakers rejected trading a first round pick for Sessions. They also did with Beasley. So... I have no idea what they are doing. They have a huge hole at the PG and SF position.

If they aren't ready to give up any picks then why are they even trying to get him? Do they think we'd settle with Luke Walton? As I said earlier I rather keep Sessions if we can't get any valuable picks.

To me it's just posturing going on right now with LA.

If the Cavs didn't trade Anthony Parker last season for a 2nd round pick to Boston--- they sure aren't doing it for the Lakers to get Sessions. With the new more restrictive tax coming into effect after next season, cap space is at a premium and teams will be less likely to take on another team's salary cap mistake (like Luke Walton or Blake) to basically almost give away Sessions without additional compensation for taking on cap waste.

Sessions would most likely have to opt into his final year of his contract, Like Mo Williams did for the Clipper's deal, to have LA feel more comfortable in giving up their 1st round pick this year. LA isn't going to get to keep their cake (1st round picks) and eat it too (be given players like Sessions for almost free by sending only a 2nd round pick or sticking us with their salary cap mistake to get a late 1st round pick).

the Lakers are still hoping that they can get Dwight Howard for Gasol some magic beans and 2 late firsts, when it seems that Howard has his financial life set on being some kind of rebirth of the Nets in Brooklyn.

Or they just don't feel like 30 games of Sessions is worth a first round pick.
