Not that it matters from a draft standpoint 'cause I don't want us to take him either way. Just figured I'd query a different set of fans. My GT guys are hearing that rumor.

Wtf..FBI? What did international man of mystery (local bodega) Bagley do?

He's not named in the above but the rumor is he got paid and it's just not 'out' yet.

The funny thing is Andy Miller is (well 'was') known as one of the good ones (player agents) but he's dirty as the day is long. Him not yet being indicted seems a clear indication he's a cooperating witness at this point. College basketball is (hopefully) about to be turned on it's head.

A number of prominent college players past and present have been implicated. Wendell Carter, Miles Bridges, and Collin Sexton were allegedly involved in taking loan advances from Miller. I'm pretty sure Carter would be on the bench with a "phantom" injury as well if the rumor about Bagley was true. Colleges are making money hand over fist off these kids. If you don't want them to cave to the temptation to take "illegal benefits", you have to give them something to ensure they won't be so easily enticed. If a kid can get $$$ or a car for himself or a house and/or a good job for his parent(s) that is hard for any 18 or 19 year old from humble beginnings to turn down.

Simple, Marvin was content being one of the guys, at #2 you want him to be THE guy.

Ha, I saw that and did a double-take.

Supposedly, that's only the tip of the iceberg too. A bunch-a college coaches are shaking in their depends. :P

I always said it wasn't so much the Marvin pick that did us in, it was following it up with Shellhead.
I remember the whispers about getting a promise from the Hawks and i stupidly thought, nah, smoke screen.
I was so excited for the pick then it cane through. I just turned off the TV. Sigh.

I'm glad somebody had the guts to say it. Do you think Reggie Bush regrets getting his mom a house and job while he was at USC? It cost him the Heisman but I'd make that trade 100 times out of 100. Kids are choosing to help themselves and their families instead of adhering to NCAA rules of eligibility. The same NCAA that's profiting off of them. I just can't bring myself to look at them as the bad guys in this situation.

What if Lonzo is the mastermind behind all this Lavar stuff...so we are definitely sure that’s his dad right?

Me too...I thought was hoping we would go with Foye, Rondo or Marcus Williams because they all came in for a workout together and impressed.

Rondo would have been sweet at the time. The other two not so much.

I think we get a pick in the teens now off that Minny Butler injury.

Well, Ayton has officially been implicated in the Miller investigation. I get the feeling the NCAA tournament isn't going to be that great this time around. All of these Lottery picks are going to be watching it on TV like the rest of us. No biggie, I still have Ayton #1.

Might as well cancel the Tourney. Coach about to be fired.
FBI wiretaps intercepted telephone conversations between Arizona coach Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins, a key figure in the FBI's investigation into college basketball corruption, in which Miller discussed paying $100,000 to ensure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats, sources familiar with the government's evidence told ESPN.

Too much money on the line for them to be canceling the tourney. It's a shame that Ayton probably won't be there but sticking it to the corrupt NCAA should by no means hurt anyone's draft stock.

Could file all of this under "no duh" but I'm honestly waiting to see how the NCAA tries to spin this to make themselves look good by claiming the protection of the sanctity of the "student-athlete". The NBA's only concern is they're losing out on a free marketing arm.
