They're gonna be in position to draft a big in the draft this year and they did take Isaac last year. Plus Gordon is gonna be looking to get paid this summer. It makes some sense why they would be looking to move him in the right deal.

i still don't think it makes sense. gordon is only 22 years old and hasn't even reached his ceiling yet. let issac play the 3 or something. they should be looking to move vucevic. he's 27 and in his prime. trade him for a young player that fits their timeline. or for a pick

I know he's been a disappointment so far but he's a very athletic SF who has an excellent body for the NBA and plays great defense. His contract is not expensive and he becomes a RFA at the end of 18-19. Maybe SVG deserves some blame for not developing him and using him the right way.

Besides, he's another former no. 8 draft pick. We need to stock up on no. 8s. It's our lucky number.

They're probably exploring all options but Payton is also set to make money this summer too so they probably want to keep him and try to get value for AG. Vucevic isn't on a terrible contract and he expires next summer. They could just explore trade options for him in the summer, then if anything just let him walk next year.

Drafting Isaac when his best case was AG was such a dumb pick. DSJ/AG could’ve been a nice duo. Payton is meh to me.

You know Hammond, he loves guys with length. I wouldn't be surprised if their draft target is Bamba.

I agree. But it’s ORL and they still have Biz, so who knows. Birch has shown promise as well, even though he’s no more than a bench big.

That’s why I proposed Frank for AG to their board and they brought out pitchforks on me.

We are still playing that middle ground

I think what defines "future" is key here

I'd say nothing past Noah. Then again, not sure what is viable within that parameter.

i just feel like they should lock up AG no matter what. he's pretty much their franchise player at this point. i don't really see any justification for trading him. he has to be their priority

They could get more for AG. if they traded him to the Jazz for cap space and a 1st, they could just draft SGA.

Favors + Iso Joe for AG + Vucevic + 1st round pick

Would that be a good deal? Orlando saves money and gets a decent draft pick and Utah gets a backup C for Gobert plus a nice up and coming player in AG that would fit nice next to Gobert on the front line. Mitchell, AG and Gobert would be a nice young core for the Jazz to keep building on. Orlando could draft Bamba and SGA with their picks.

That’s a solid deal for sure. Knicks can do something similar, though.

Not really. We don't have any expiring deals like the Jazz do and we also don't have a need for any of the Magic bigs, like Vucevic.

Yeah, but Vuc isn’t a liability contract. He’s had a great year. I don’t think he’s their worst contract at all.

Plays one side of the ball and rebounds well. Defense is garbage, though.

Return to New York Knicks
