our drivers don't really draw fouls, gordon just goes straight into people and evan avoids contact

Welp, that sounds like unsustainable offense just like last season... but it doesn't feel like the same.
The 2nd in off. efficiency is clearly not sustainable but the defense seems so. If they can continue the ball movement and top out around 15-20 on offensive efficiency I think they sneak into the playoffs. The free throw attempts does seem very sustainable lmao.

We've been around last every year since Dwight left. We also set a record one year for lowest attempt per game for an entire season.

I'm not sure if this is just me looking for a reason for optimism, but it seems like we are getting much better looks at the basket than we were during our hot start last year. It seems like last year we hit a lot of contested jumpers, whereas this year we're hitting open shots and getting more shots at the rim.

Does anybody have any stats on that (the percentage of FGAs that are open or lightly contested this year vs last year)?

Next 9 games will be very important.

vs Tor
@ Den
@ LAL
@ GSW
@ Por
@ Pho
@ Mia
vs Den
vs Ind

It's gonna be hard to win more than 2 of those, so on Dec 8th we could be looking at 11-15 record. I hope they won't hang their heads and keep fighting. Schedule losens for a while after that and we can end 2018 year with 17-18 record - still in the hunt for play-offs. Then we open 2019 with another 6 games road streak - and this one can be crucial. We had so many teams falling apart in January that it's gonna be extremely stressful to watch them respond to longer win droughts.

Our main scorers are quite bad at drawing fouls, Vucevic has improved in pretty much everything else, but this is one area he's still really bad for a 7 footer who has very good low post skills, Gordon despite his elite athleticism still struggles to draw fouls too and seems like he's almost as likely to commit an offensive foul than to get to the line, Evan isn't good at it either, and Ross is atrocious at drawing fouls because his ballhandling is trash and he shoots jumpers almost exclusively. The only ones who are decent at it on the roster are Simmons and DJ (who is really crafty at drawing fouls and is still pretty quick).

Kemba is turning 29, right? Why is everyone all about him at that age? What am I missing? (I am legit asking, explain the hype around him to me).

29 is not old. Lebron is 33. Kemba just put up 60 points and happens to play the position we are weak at / we also need a dependable go to scorer. He fills both holes. He also plays good defense and has a history with coach Clifford.

Orlando is currently only 1/2 game back of the #5-seed, and shares 9 wins with Boston.

Orlando has played 17 games, whereas Detroit has only played 13 games.

Orlando is currently a full 2 games over the #9-seed.

Orlando currently has the 4th most home wins in the East.

p.s. Memphis and LAC are both at am amazing 10-5.

Vucevic and Tobias appear to be on the same timeline... both drafted 2011, 16-18 point scorer for years, finally crack 20 point average in 8th season.

This is just not a good analysis of the point guard position. It takes guys several years to grow into effective players this spot. 29 is not old at all, especially on a 3-4 year deal where you can expect consistent production. Walker knows the offense and could easily step right in to the spot. I would go all in for him. It's exactly what is missing to take this team to the next level.

This pains me more than the Dipo trade. We could've had him and Gordon starting side by side with Vuc.

Dipo was never going to be the player he is now in Orlando, we didn't have the culture for him. AG and Tobias worked their tail off regardless.

Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

Because he fits what this team needs like a glove. Almost a perfect fit.

Yup my first thought. Every year we have some disgruntled star wanting out. Beal would be amzing next to Isaac. Throw everything but Isaac and Bamba for this

Read on Twitter

As the Washington Wizards' season spirals, the franchise has started to deliver teams an impression that every player on their roster -- including All-Star guards John Wall and Bradley Beal -- is available for discussion in trade scenarios, league sources told ESPN.

It was only a matter of time, that team was has been a radioactive dumpster fire and their management might be dumb enough to trade Beal for peanuts. Beal and Sarotsky would be nice.
