The Lakers with another great trade. They essentially gave up a bench shooter and a late FRP for a 23 year old 7footer whose only downside right now is that he may be injury prone---although that is way too early in his career to really say.
He is already getting you 15/10 and shoots 75% from the FT line. Truly stunning.

Why exactly did Charlotte view this as beneficial? They are tanking, they have a 23 year old Center with potential. I don't get it. They drafted him just 2 years ago with the 15th pick. Laker trades always seem more like a collaboration than some sort of hard negotiation.

Just stunning. Can anyone explain why Charlotte did this?

i see both sides of it… williams is injury prone and the hornets got a nice haul for him honestly. i just think imo if you’re gonna trade mark for being injury prone you might as well trade lamelo too while you’re at it and start over building around brandon miller

I read through the thread on the Charlotte board to get a picture. I'd say the dissapointment in the trade outweighs but there seem to have been concerns over his injuries and overall effort level, especially on the defensive end.

just caught up to all the news. NBA trade deadline is just insane. love it
my thoughts:

- Warriors/Heat. Nice talent upgrade and gamble for GSW. I just wish they've could have sent out more small contracts and kept Wiggins. they will miss his shooting and defense. Heat did ok, considering Butler wasn't coming back anyway.

- Raptors/Pels. Don't know what the Raptors are doing tbh. They should have went the other way and sell vets for picks in this stage of the rebuild. Ingram is a talented player, but always injured. fit of IQ/RJ/BI and Barnes is very awkward imo. Pels did veeeery well here, considering they would not have resigned BI anyway.

- Lakers/Hornets: LAL got exactley the type of big man they needed, but this time I think they gave up a swap too much.

- Wizards / Kings: Sacramento is just one hell of a terrible, losing franchise. Instead of going all in or bottom out, they are now in the play in territory forver. they have really no clue about roster building and fit. Monk/DDR/Lavine/Sabonis/JV. Crazy, absolutely no defense, every player needs the ball and they will fire lot of midrange shots.

They need another move but Warriors stole Jimmy. Still one of the top 25 players in the league when healthy and engaged. The extension is inconsequential considering the position they're in. Wiggins could never be trusted since their last chip. Nice move by Golden State.

It's going to be hilarious watching Ingram and Barrett play on the same team.

The Kangz are officially back. Chanel very relieved Knicks stayed out of Valanciunas business. The Lavine trade was ok and signals the start of a transition period which is fine but Val is puzzling.

Lakers not messing around. Mark Williams is a bit of a question mark, I'm a bit surprised this is who they traded their remaining draft capital for, but it could pay off if he can stay healthy. But I'm more on the skeptical side for this one.

They’re gonna trade him. They can’t afford Ingram’s extension with rj, iq and Barnes. Plus the raptors fans want him gone.

Also as a comparison, Ingram is so much better than him.
