I hope Kerr is holding him back so other teams does not have much gameplay how to guard against him, similar to how Kerr was resistant to spam KD/Curry pnr.

Good, he was awful in it last year. I'm sure he'll have plenty of ASG appearances in the future.

If Kuminga played another 10 minutes SGA would have probably fouled him out anyway. Kerr was smart to keep him out.

Would have loved for him to be a part of All-Star weekend, but hopefully it fuels him.

He's probably happy he missed out. Who really wants to really spend time in Utah.

Comparing that report to PBJ and his e-scooter, I had concerns about Kuminga falling for the trappings of the NBA.

This season I have seen him impact games with some serious force under pressure. So definitely not so worried about him getting caught up in the celebrity and losing focus.

lol i remember jeremy tyler being a 2nd round pick for gsw and immediately bought a porshe or something like that smh.

I'm sorry but look at Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Jonathan Kuminga as people. PBJ looks like he plays MMOs and JK could not be more different from that. Of course Patrick bought an e-scooter - hell he probably bought a pre-owned Camry too. That doesn't mean he's any more NBA ready than JK who likely blew his first check on xanax and studio sessions.

What are we even talking about here lmao.

I remember looking up his salary when I saw that and it was like 700k, the car was probably 200k

We'll see how hard PBJ works in the offseason.

He's shooting almost 45% from 3 based on very limited playing time.

But he has to be able to contribute in other ways, using his length to rebound, help defend at the rim, get deflections, maybe even steels.

For that he's got to get stronger and maximize his athleticism.

Basically the same challenge Moody is facing and which Poole faced as a 19 or 20 year old when he was drafted. JP still needs more strength.

So lets see how these young players train in the offseason if they want to break into the rotation.

JK actually seems pretty simple to me as well. On his socials he mainly just spends time with his two dogs.

But yeah this also reminds me of Paschall and Poole when they both got drafted by GSW. Pashcall said in the interview he's more of a chill and low key guy when it comes to cars and stuff. Ended up not panning out, so I agree we can't really judge young guys on superficial things lol.

However, the one rookie who people judged and were right about was when Patrick O'Bryant got drafted and the commentator said a fun fact about him is he likes to bake cheesecakes in his free time.

I've liked what I've seen from JK lately but it looks like he needs to get a lot more playing time to develop. I hope Steve just lets him loose given how the season is going. We're not going anywhere unless one of these young guys develops -- JK and Baldwin. It's a low % chance they can make a leap this year, but it's all we've got as it doesn't look like Lacob wants to do much with the roster this year.

Oh man I remember when we drafted him, I thought "welp, of course that's what we'd do, draft another big stiff"

That's our destiny, we got Nate Thurmond the greatest big man defender of all time and a stint with Wilt and we used up all our big man capital for life.

Kumimga buying into cutting without the ball? This could be epic..

This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I’d swap DDV for Looney.

With more PT and permission to make some mistakes he’s getting to learn from exploring his game a little and appears to be a pretty fast learner. He has recognized that despite his passing skill m, his handle has limitations and if he’s dribbling more then twice he’s probably going to get in trouble. he is seeing when it’s time to pick up his dribble and protect the ball in time now. He likes do do some of the Draymond traffic cop thing holding the ball, which makes me gag a little. But he also keep making quality passes out of those positions.

Giving him ball denial responsibilities off ball has really elevated his off ball defense. I’m would be ecstatic if we are preparing some full court trap sets for the playoffs with him, Wiggins, GPII, Draymond and DDV. We could really tax opponents energy and discipline by defending 90 feet for portions of the game.
