I had a similar thought.

But that would mean Indy goes full tank ...

... and come to think of it, we have evidence that their fans would tolerate that. The evidence may be found in three words, and I'll let you guys fill in some of the blanks:

Top of Paul George's IG follow list (lol we follow the same people).

I spy with my little eye Gerald Green and the Little Guy. Maybe he also wants to team up with Blake Griffin. ;)

I'm really confident in the Celtics getting Hayward, if we can get George without giving up any of our major picks and trade one of Bradley or Crowder to go along with Zeller and other future picks then I'm definitely in. It would hurt if he left but it won't cost too much in the end which is a worthy gamble.

Yes, that is the bass case.

Gonna be tough, but they could free up another max slot.

Paul George shaking loose like this is exactly the situation that Ainge has talked about being ready for since we started the post KG rebuild. I can't imagine he doesn't go hard for him.

i think what he is saying is PG is going to LAL no matter what and any team that tries to get him is getting a rental. So I guess he assumes BOS won't be "that" team.

If we trade our depth for Paul and sign Griffin, then our old friend Gerald is essential to stay on and be key to our bench.

just listening to him carefully. something IND did not do to PG. he definitely could be misjudging things. but his judgement has been pretty spot on.

But Deng will be on books for 18 million - tough to dump. They can move Clarkson easy. Mozgov will be tough, too. Those were baddish signings. I think I defended them at the time, mostly bc I didn't think they could get PG *and* Lebron.

That must be why their board meetings are so high-stakes.

Given that it's Doyel, I conjecture that it's the stated opinion, truthful or otherwise, well-founded or otherwise, of one insider.

No way, an agent isn't going to try and get his player to not be the 1st pick. Had to assume the C's were making the 1st pick when he worked out for them. No one tanks to be 2nd or 3rd.

He still is the first pick. Agent would know about BC talking trade. And going third, playing 30 minutes, building reputation, visibility, endorsement deals, getting max contract better than going first, playing 10-20 minutes, having the second contract be less than max. Or having Boston trade you to a bad situation.

That would be a lot of faith from an agent that Fultz wouldn't fire him at some point between the rookie deal and the extension. It's possible I just think it's unlikely that it happened.

Lol dont care how it's spun, Jaylen Brown is not worth getting rid of to keep Crowder.

Also, Butler feels underwhelming with George on the table

Goes on to say Jae is 'miles better than Jaylen and it isn't realistic that he will close the gap in 3 years'.

Can we all just accept that this Dean guy is a hot take hoser who doesn't warrant serious comment even on a RealGM board? I mean, it was cool when he was all about Embiid more than most. That was three years ago. Haven't seen anything worth the use of brain cells since then.
