That's the risk you run when you interview so many people.

Really guys like Clifford and Monty Williams shouldn't even be getting interviews.

I don't see the issue with having a broad pool of candidates initially and then narrowing the focus. In saying that, I'm personally not super excited by Clifford or Monty Williams, but if they turn out to be the best candidate and impress with another team, we'll rue the teams front office even more.

At least one positive is that there are lots of interested candidates.

If TOR cans Casey, I think they'd just promote Nurse.

I'm not sure that will be the case. They will probably want to look at a complete overhaul to avoid the risk of remaining the same. If Casey is gone, it is more likely that Nurse is available IMO.

Yep. I'm mentally all conditioned for Bud right now and could maybe even rationalize to myself they'd win 50 games with him next season. These other guys? Not so much.

Imagine our front office actually begins to be a good front office.

Out of the coaches listed as being interviewed. Which ones in your opinion could win the title someday with a team built around Giannis? Which ones could you absolutely not see winning the title?

LED just want to hire the best coach that will tolerate their continual meddling. That requires meeting with lots of people.

If these guys would just stop being a couple Vivek Ranadive's, and hire a good POBO, there would be no need for all of these interviews.

Wonder if we start to ramp up the coach search with Toronto getting swept and rumors of them looking to dump Casey. Would hate to lose out on a good coach because Toronto and Detroit opened up.

Toronto might be more appealing, but the Pistons? I dunno.

Wasn't implying Detroit was more appealing, just adding them as another open team.

If Casey gets fired and they go in a new direction, I wonder if we could snatch Nurse as a top assistant. Grab Messina and groom nurse.

Chris Finch for me. He has shown tremendous ability in creating an offense around a big man. Nuggets had an elite offense when he was there last year and the pels (specifically boogie) looked like a beast under his scheme. He'd elevate the offense and Giannis game for sure.

It just doesn't work that way. If you are runner up for a job, you aren't taking the assistant position with that team. And the guy who got the job isn't bringing in his runner up to second guess and compete with him. Maybe Becky Hammon follows Ettore if we hired him simply to get the number two chair but these other scenarios are wishful thinking IMO.

I don’t think there’s much to that. He just tweeted something about sending his resume in. Maybe I’m mistaken, but I assumed it was a joke. Doesn’t surprise me that the geniuses on WSSP are taking it seriously.

It was a joke. Kinda sad how that radio station likes to blow things up for topics. What's worse, is I think they believe half the **** that comes out their mouths.

Yeah it's definitely wishful thinking but in that scenario Nurse needs to end up somewhere. Nurse wasn't even in the Bucks top five so he's not exactly a runner-up ever seriously considered. Messina also would have trouble pulling Spurs assistance with pop leaving soon.

We're interviewing too many people apparently? I'd rather that then them zeroing in on somebody with no backup plan. You guys really are insatiable, damned if you do damned if you don't.

well we interviewed Zanik, Karnisovas, Wes Wilcox, Ed Stefanski. Bill Branch, Noam Croom, Peter Dinwiddie, Pat Garrity, Adam Simon, and Becky Hammon (I'm sure that I'm missing a few more) before settling on Horst so...

At the end of the day though I can only make a judgment on someone based on my limited view of them as a fan from the outside. If the FO thinks people like Hammon and Stack are worth an interview based on their intel then I'm fine with it. Us acting like we know more than they do in regards to this search is daft. However whether we have faith in them making the right choice is a separate matter...

Exactly. Regardless of what we think of the Bucks FO, they truly DO know more about what they're doing than we do. I know, it's hard to believe when you consider the sh*t show this organization has been for almost its entire existence. But we're still just fans. And even the most knowledgeable of fan still has no idea what it takes to run an NBA franchise.

The one thing us fans DO KNOW? The Bucks FO (while vastly more knowledgeable than the average fan) seems to be vastly incompetent compared to the rest of the league, for the better part of going on....well.....forever.

Us fans might not have the answer, but if history shows us anything, neither does the Bucks FO. It's hard to blame any Bucks fan for thinking that whatever move the team makes will ultimately be the wrong move. It's called conditioning...

You and me think that "who coach wouldn't want to lead Giannis to a Championship ? "

Just stroke me ... are we thinking like hommies ?
Considering our Cap Hell ... smart coaches could think ... "Should I coach the Pelicans of the East?"
Giannis and AD are intriguing to coach BUT there is no chance we win anything and the FO-owners have shown they are not capable to build around Giannis. Horst as GM is a no go. I believe Bud or Messina would want GM power too, or request a clear upgrade at GM position so they can cooperate.

So to hire Bud or Messina is harder than we think.
