lol, Drake Maverick is such a useful person for a wrestling company. He can wrestle and talk, he can be silly and professional, he's both weird looking and handsome, and he doesn't mind looking like an absolute fool. And there's no way he's demanding some huge salary.
Everybody else, I get.

Yeah came here to post this as well

AEW should jump on EC3, he'd be terrific there. I'm sure Gallows/Anderson are a given due to their ties to the Elite. Quite honestly, all could fit in AEW to be honest.

He is a great talker, would be a good weasley manager for someone who doesnt have much mic skills. In WWE, would have been great for a guy like Strowman, Lashley, etc.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
I Don’t think a lot of this talent will be snapped up by AEW who have their own financial issues to worry about. Truthfully, none of the aforementioned releases are needle movers. Some say EC3 but they already have that character in MJF.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
Fauci saying there will be no spectators at sporting events for a long time has to worry both Vince and the Khans. I don’t know about how AEW works, but I know with Wwe, even if they’re only paying their talents the down side guarantee, so much of that revenue is made up by house show ticket sales. On top of that, the merchandise plays a big factor in so many of the talent’s incomes. I’d expect to see a lot more releases and I don’t think we should downplay how this will permanently change their business.
I also have to wonder how long they’ll be able to hold on with no attendance and merchandise revenues.

What kind of contracts do the released wrestlers have? Will they get gratuities?

To my knowledge they are independent contractors and once wwe releases them that’s it.

In more ways than one. He was covering expenses for some of the hourly folks who weren't getting paid by Wwe, that's just wrong

As if the WWE running shows wasn't stupid enough, that Linda McMahon story is just infuriating, America is in all kinds of trouble. From Saudi to this, will not be spending ANY $ on this awful company, just embarassing

Re: WWE General Discussion II
absolutely ridiculous that they would fire all these people in the middle of a global pandemic just as they gave a big donation (with that money they could have easily have kept everyone on the payroll). Even for WWE, this is stunningly low. They also have half a billion in cash reserves.
The thing that gets me is that they didn't even stand them down or temporarily furlough them, they straight up released them meaning that these people aren't coming back regardless.
Anyway I have a list for them:
Aiden English
Curt Hawkins
Drake Maverick
EC3
Epico
Eric Young
Heath Slater
Karl Anderson
Kurt Angle
Lio Rush
Luke Gallows
Maria Kanellis
Mike Chioda
Mike Kanellis
No Way Jose
Primo
Erick Rowan
Rusev
Sarah Logan
Zack Ryder
on the producer side of the things, these are the names that have been released:
Billy Kidman
Dave Finlay
Lance Storm
Mike Rotunda
Pat Buck
Sarah Stock
Scott Armstrong
Shane Helms
Shawn Daivari
Now most of the names here will find their feet but that's besides the point, the timing couldn't be worse

Is he furloughed or legit gone though? if he's gone, it goes to show that their is no loyalty to anyone in the company. I'm sure Chioda could get another good paying job in wrestling as a head ref but the fact that's he's been employed for 31 years and they let him go just like that is disgraceful.

AEW should be on the phone with him yesterday. Dude's a star even if Vince was too stupid to ever realize it.

Yesterday, the twitter account of WrestleVotes reported that there could be more layoffs.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
This is a natural consequence of WWE wasting so much money to stockpile talent they didn't need and couldn't use just so that other companies can't hire them. Of course, now WWE is giving themselves a massive black eye by firing all these people in the middle of a pandemic to save the money they wasted by signing them in the first place. Karma, baby.
