They might get the #1 pick this year and it will go to Boston. And then they swap their pick with them next year. And I think they owe them another pick the year after that. Crazy.

And Billy King still has a job. Somehow.

I was just thinking about them tonight. If they would have just kept their picks, they would definitely have Damian Lillard (if they used the pick the same way Portland did) instead of what they had in Gerald Wallace. And if the never traded for Deron Williams, they would probably have Favors along with more. And this year, they probably will lose a pick that will be Ben Simmons, Skal Labissiere or Dragan Bender.

Plus a ton of other picks went to Atlanta for JJ and to Boston. I thought about figuring out what their young lineup could look like if they kept their picks, but just off the top of my head, Lillard and Favors would be a good start.

Billy King is the worst GM in sports.

He's lucky that their Russian owner doesn't have a clue about basketball or the NBA or else he would have been fired a long time ago.

So what you're saying is, if we make a trade, we should trade with Brooklyn.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Billy King does suck, but they suffer the same crap we have to suffer with an owner wanting to make the playoffs when you NEED to break down and rebuild..

The only good thing for us, was that McD wasn't dumb enough to trade any picks.....UNTIL HE TRADED THAT LAKERS PICK.

I was thinking about it earlier. If we had just taken Rodney Hood instead of Tyler Ennis, Hood can play SG, and is 6'8, and then we can either still draft Booker to give us more shooters (not a bad move), or we could have taken Portis.

So we could have just gone, for the future, Bledsoe/Hood/Warren/Portis/Len AND had that Lakers pick which could end up very good. I like Booker more than Hood, but I would rather have both and the pick then Knight at this point. I like Knight ok, but I wish he would initiate more ball movement.

Yea but honestly looking at that Nets roster, I'm not sure I want anything from that.

I hate to admit it but that lineup would be amazing. However Knight has been doing well and will only get better. I'm hoping that he gets more into the flow and we make some trades closer to the deadline. We definitely need more firepower and Tucker/Teletovic/Goodwin are expendable at this point

it was one terrible trade. i wouldn't have done it for any more than 2 draft picks. that's why they are where they are right now. i'm kind of surprised they re-signed Brook, but since they did, they're not in as much trouble as they could've been. the trade was Joe Dumars-esque. when you commit a couple of heinous blunders as Joe did, then i might consider you the worst GM in sports. i think Michael Jordan might actually hold that title (although he's not a GM, but i'm sure he has a lot of influence on personnel as the owner. you know what i mean.)

also, Deron Williams DID NOT play to the level his contract implied. that wasn't quite a Gilbert Arenas contract, but it was only slightly better than Amar'e's Knicks tenure. (see what happens when you leave the Suns? Goran?) taking that into account, i would say Billy King is one of the worst GM's in the league, but maybe not the absolute worst. look at Chip Kelly.....Billy's got some competition, at the very least.

Good lord just realised Andre Drummond is averaging 20/20 ! I know it's only a handful of games but it wouldn't be shocking to see him finish the season with something like 20/18

Yeah, if they finish with the 13th or 14th pick that will be painful that we traded that top 12 protected pick.

Marc Stein's Power Rankings for Week 2. Somehow the 3-4 Suns are ranked 23rd and the 0-6 Pelicans are ranked 22nd.

The wins have been on the unremarkable side so far; home and road triumphs over the Blazers and a rout of the DeMarcus Cousins-less Kings. The last couple games, though, have been extra edgy, with Detroit's Marcus Morris getting into it with Suns fans and Eric Bledsoe and Kevin Durant trading lots of trash talk.

I'm not sure where we should be ranked, but I can't stand Marc Stein.

McLemore is slowly turning into the Kings' Archie. He's been benched and now in this game he'll be the third SG in the rotation, if he gets playing time.

Watching this Warriors game and Marcus is honestly a better player than Kieff. If the Suns offered Detroit Kieff for Marcus I don't think the Pistons would even consider it.

Marcus has gotten better defensively too which is the real surprise. Playing under Van Gundy has really improved him.

Surprised you are watching that over the football game...got screwed on our last score...anyway, Marcus had some GREAT games for us. I don't know if he's better than Markieff. I imagine they are exactly the same in the end.

I disagree. I really don't think we can say after 6 games (or however many games he's played with the Pistons) that he's better than Markieff, after we've watched him play almost 200 games. Not to say he can't get better but I feel like we have a pretty good idea on what Markieff can bring and what Mook can bring. I still think Kieff is the better player. Mook has been playing close to 40mpg with Detroit but if you look at his per36 production, it's pretty comparable to last season except for his FTA's which has increased two folds.

After watching these TWolves highlights, I'm worried this is the next Shaq/Kobe.

And we had their first round pick this year top 12 protected. If that Minnesota and LA pick both pan out for the teams we traded them to, that would hurt.

I don't think the Wolves will get out of the bottom 12, but damn, they were beating the Hawks by 30 at halftime...the Hawks were like 7-1 going into the game. The Hawks made a run in the second half, but the Wolves hung on.

I remember i said it last season that Minnesota has a better future than us and that nobody in their right mind would want the Suns over their's and multiple people here said they would take the Suns roster over Minnesota's....need less to say, most of those posters no longer post here

George Karl went old school tonight. Played Rondo 48 minutes. And the Kings were blown out at home by 18 to the Spurs.

Return to Phoenix Suns
