IF the Bucks actually want to pay Herro I’d assume that wouldn’t hold up much of the discussions. Hes still on the books for another year and if they offer him the extension this summer he’ll take it no doubt

His bird rights should carry over. The contract shouldn't be an issue, he was going to extend for a 4 year deal anyways.

I dont think a 5:1 deal is possible.
Unless the rozier questions are answered, wiggins needs to go out in the deal and rerouted to a third team.
Ware and Jaku are guaranteed to be in the deal.
Unless giannis says he wants only miami, they won't be able to compete with other offers.

Outside of that, your starting line up idea is fire. You absolutely need perimeter defenders who can space in front of giannis. And that group would give him something he hasn't had since jru and prime Middleton. Definite east favorites and match up well with okc.

It's not about Bird rights, it's about having him locked in a contract. Herro just has one year left after this season and he is a free agent. He can go anywhere he wants. That is why his value without an extension is just that of an expiring, think of how cheap we got PowelL. No way the Bucks make that trade with the real likely hood Herro goes to another team, it's not just about money but location, exposure etc. Thats why honestly we are out before it even started for this year. He's under contract for another year after this. His situation isn't the same as powell or wiggins. Those 2 can walk for nothing after this season.

The bucks can negotiate a 4/200 deal as early as July 1 2026. And would have an entire season to work that out or flip him. Looking at how the FA market is right now, I'm guessing he takes the money if the bucks offer it. And if they actually want herro in a return for giannis, they will offer it. Not max money, but good money.

Unless they really free fall, looking like a bottom feeder and Giannis grows really frustrated this is gonna end up being a summer saga.

If summer comes and Giannis doesn’t want to extend they will move him since he has a player option the last year. No risk playing him next year with no extention, he gets injured you’re really screwed.

Also the landscape will change drastically from now till the summer, even a team like okc might reconsider trading for him if they end up underperforming this year.

They spoke to the 1 team he was interested in joining at the time... the deal didn't quite work out and Bucks asked for another shot with the surprise Turner move which locked them into a miserable situation.

There is a reason Sham's kept saying keep an eye on Giannis. He wouldn't harp on this if he didn't know something was up over there. Giannis gave them a chance and that may continue into the end of the year but it's looking bad right noq. also Giannis is a 30YO big that relies on athleticism - every season counts with him as a leading man.

I think the league is going to have to hook us up with the Rozier deal. Can re evaluate then. I’d pay attention to that situation it could end up being a big deal in our favor.

I could see Miami being all over this if the season was going differently. I think they need to just leave Spo alone he’s cooking right now. You’re going all in to get a 31 year old Giannis. Not sure it’s prudent based on what we are seeing with this team, it’s kinda bigger than 1 year right now. We’re legitimately watching the game of basketball change.

Mark my words specialist won’t exist in this game much longer it’s going to be 5 out iso ball and either you better have the best player in the world, and or be incredibly balanced and deep 1-5. This roster was built for that, Spo as we have watched has fought this battle for years going back and forth between committing to something like this and guys like Jimmy, Duncan, and DHOs that made Bam and Tyler successful.

Jimmy Butler hated this system and that was the start of this entire deal. Spo started doing this in 24 and Jimmy threw a fit about it and talked about standing in the corner.

I get the sentiment but Miami does have huge decisions to consider. Norms a FA, Herro’s extension.. theyre not in OKCs tier. so if they have a chance to land Giannis for Herro, Ware picks, you do it and dont look back. we were winning without Herro and Ware has barely been getting 20 mins with the new lineups. This would make Miami a real contender for the next 5 years and maximizing Bams prime. You have to do it.
