Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Pat is Back!
Bogdanovic would have been lovely for you guys, can you still make moves? I woulda loved to see Giannis playing the 5 alot as in the postseason i feel like Brook is abit like Love. Giannis with 4 shooters is deadly as Jrue can atleast create his own shot unlike Bledsoe. Hopefully Giannis can add a little bit of range so the wall aint affective. I think Jrue will help massively, Bucks defence will be horrible for the opposing teams. Bucks LA would be a huge series either a changing of the guard or status qou for another year. And hey i don't want that you know what KD getting to a finals in the East. Will be beautiful if he never makes a finals app in the supposed weak East.

Yep. The Bucks are better. The starting 5 is better. The bench is better. Defense? Korver was the worst defender in the league last year. And the Bucks got younger. No more watching Marvin struggle to get up the floor. Giannis takes everyone up a notch and these young guys (except DJ, both of em) have some upside.

Yeh, this is a good breakdown. He's probably not the best match for us what about Alex Len? I remember him torching us when he was a hawk.LuessiT wrote:LuessiT wrote:drone3 wrote:Thanks, this is good. Thoughts on Dialo?
Don't have to convince me
But truthfully Cheick isn't exactly what we need. We need to keep the lanes open. We need someone who can move the ball and space for others. He's not shooting the 3 as far as last season and he's not exactly the most crisp decision maker.
And we need someone to defend the plodders in the regular season and that's not exactly his forte.
He's a truely talented big man that has 4 years of league experience despite just turning 24. He's still rough around the edges but he's highly skilled and needs a bigger leash. He's much more than just an energy big but should easily have a place in the league as just that which makes investing in him much easier compared to other projects.
In Phoenix was his first year where he mostly played center. It definately helped his developement but he also clearly struggled versus more physical players that could somewhat match his speed. Here's some tape where he faced Giannis and got absolutely man-handled:
On the other hand he had his most impressive outings versus slower centers that just couldn't handle his speed and when he could play at high octane. Here's some more favorable tape vs. the Nuggets and the Lakers:
He doesn't help himself by not shooting the 3 and allowing defenders to keep a cushion. He used to get most of his points in PnRs or via putbacks but he's also developed a pretty sound inbetween game. Ultimately you want him to pop out quite a bit but he's not there yet. He improved his FT% every year and is up to 87%. He's got exeptional touch on floaters and jumpers. Additionally he's got solid numbers from midrange. At this point it's not an if but a when. And once he's got that he'll be preying on slower bigs.
Imo we could nevertheless invest in him as his floor is a useful energy big off the bench and he's a hardworking high character guy. But with our current roster makeup I wouldn't be surprised if we're going for someone bigger and more experienced.

Pretty wild. Khris Middleton joined the team 34 days after Giannis too. So its basically them and then DJ Wilson? Is that right? Lol
Giannis is also one of the YOUNGEST guys on our roster.

I think we not only got better but we got “playoff” better by far if things work out. And at this point nothing else really matters. We went all in to the best of our ability.
it's definitely going to challenge Bud to cobble together a rotation out of these "interesting pieces."

At this point I think our Center rotation is Brook / Portis / DJ Wilson that's 17M + Portis Contract ...
So 20M + invested in our Center position

So 20M + invested in our Center position

Haven't seen much of Portis, but I believe he can play with both Giannis and Brook which is exactly what we needed from our 3rd big.

Trade Brook + DJ Wilson for Fournier
Then sign Luke Kornet, & Noah Vonleh
I am still not settled for our SGs . We need more shooting at the backfourt.
Horst has criminally kept his draft picks DJ Wilson + DDV active and actually gives them a bigger role than they deserve.
Fournier has playmaking abilities and I think he could even be more effective playing more off ball on catch n shoot shots
You don't like Fournier ? OK find me the best shooter SG at the 17M per range ( Brook + WIlson )

We made a real focus on finding guys that can produce in the playoffs. Founier is the opposite of that.

Lets hope that Giannis & Khris are still the longest tenured Bucks in another decade. Means they kept winning & went further.

I would’ve just not brought Conny back. Despite the contract, I’m not sure he’s a top 4 wing in this team. Merrill might even be better.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Pat is Back!
The Bucks are definitely better than they were last year. Lost in all the front office f**kery is the fact that we were able to land Jrue Holiday, a player Bucks fans are going to absolutely love. Unfortunately in the most important offseason in franchise history we managed to botch two separate deals, Bogdan and Pat. Does this happen with a real GM? Or is the problem that any GM wouldn't hold any actual power? Either way its amateurish and downright embarrassing. Especially when you're trying to impress a once in a life time player who has to make a once in a life time decision. And while I'm sure Donte will be welcomed back with open arms, and use this hiccup as a chip on his shoulder, he's human. If these deals were run by Giannis for approval, that means Giannis approved trading Donte. Now in the back of Donte's mind Giannis may not fully trust him. That could be a problem. We're better, yes. I believe we're title contenders. But overall it was another embarrassing offseason for this organization.

The floor of this team is better than last year, the ceiling of this team is much much better. Hill, Ers, Wes, Korver were all solid guys, but were past it tbh, can argue Hill. We knew what they were, with this iteration we get younger and our ceiling/potential is much greater IMO. Getting rid of Bledsoe and adding Jrue automatically makes us a better playoff team. Will we be a better regular season team? I'd lean no as there will be some time to get chemistry and roles correct, but playoff team? 100% we are better.

If bogi wanted to play for the bucks he would be playing for the bucks. Simple as that.

Honestly I think it will be a good thing that the team will have to use the regular season to work out roles and chemistry. The past two seasons they have seem too relaxed and comfortable heading into the playoffs. And maybe having to fit new pieces will naturally provide some more variety on offence which has been a major issue come playoff time.
