Re: Trade Thread, 2023-24 – (Offseason)
we need Dame.
Dame/Pritchard
White/Brogdon
Tatum/
??/Gallo
Timelord/Horford
That would help, but front court still sucks balls.

If the Celtics don't get it done this year one of Smart, Brogdon or White is gone in my opinion. Brad Stevens made the trade for Malcolm Brogdon to get the Celtics over the top. Celtics will be in salary cap hell. Having three guards making close to $20 million per year with Pritchard sitting on the bench is a luxury designed to get you over the top. If the Celtics fail I fully expect one of the three to be gone.

I've thought about the idea of a Brown and Smart swap for Lillard and Sharpe. The idea being move 2 players that while good, when they have turnover issues, they tend to decimate us. A PG like Lillard when able to call his own number at times and a good decision-maker might slow the number of turnovers at the point of attack.
The problem is, I have to think if Portland wanted to move Lillard it would be to tear the thing down and rebuild, not acquire a player like Brown that puts them on an even shorter clock. due to his impending free agency. I don't know that we're a good fit for that trade. Not sure how many trades we would be good for.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

3-way trade with the 3rd team sending rebuilding assets to Portland

Grant and Dillon Brooks can commiserate about fumbling the bag together.

Their "fumbling the Bag" had the same 2 common Variables. Mouths that got way to Big and both wanted "bigger" Roles.
Off season should be interesting..

Rebuilding Portland is NOT giving up Sharpe though.

To Portland
Brown, Smart, Sign and Traded Grant Williams
Simmons
Brown
Grant
Williams
Nurkic
(Stay competetive and do a good by Dame)
To Utah
Robert Williams, Payton Pritchard, Pick
Sexton
Clarkson
THT
Markannen
Timelord
(Lots of draft picks)
To Boston
Dame, Kessler, Olynyk, Thybulle S&T, Kris Dunn
Dame/Dunn
White/Brogdon
Tatum/Thybulle
Olynyk/Gallo
Kessler/Horford
Dont love the PF situation, but 2 large sharpshooters at the PF position who can handle the ball a bit and make good passes is not a bad thing at all.
Think White easily becomes a third star, Kessler gonna be a beast.

I don't know about this exact trade but I too would like us to get bigger and less injured in the front court. I don't think we can get Kessler for 1 draft pick and Timelord though.

Someone mentioned Steven Adams might get moved? I don't think he's a perfect solution (and he prob wants a bigger role) but that's def something to look into imo. Not really on the injury side lol but wouldn't mind a tough bruiser who can pass.
Somehow the double-big defense team from last season's second half hasn't ever really resurfaced.

I agree with youy honestly, I know Danny does love him Timelord...but Its most likely not enough. More picks, more youth, lol.
Our frontcourt is too weak. especially with the front courts in the east now.
Lopez and Giannis
Mobley and Allen
Randle and Robinson
Embiid
etc

Isnt adams a terrible FT shooter though, making him unplayable late in games?

Not a chance in hell that Ainge trades Walker Kessler who played in 74 games this year, makes $3 million and is locked up cheaply for the next 3 years for TimeLord who makes 3-4 times as much, plays in 50% of the games in his career and is always hurt.
Zero chance.
Zero chance.

Well great he'd fit in perfect as part of a three big rotation with two other great free throw shooters who can finish games. He can just play tough defense, rebound and bang the living **** out of guys earlier in the game lol.

If the Celtics don't get the job done this year then Brad Stevens should be looking to move Brogdon for a young big and to get younger. It's cold but Brogdon the 6th man of the year is never going to have as high a trade value as he will this off-season. Celtics still have Smart, White and Pritchard.

Smart, Timelord, Pritchard, 3 Firsts, 3 Pick Swaps for Markkanen, Clarkson and Dunn.
I've thought all season long that the Cs need a Brogdon type in the Frontcourt and that's definitely Markkanen. Clarkson is a surefire scorer off the bench and Dunn had a solid PGish season.
C - Markkannen, Horford
PF - Tatum, ?
SF - Brown, Hauser
SG - Brogdon, Clarkson
PG - White, Dunn
