Would like to hear your thoughts on Edey.
I think he's being significantly overlooked. Dominant statistical profile, good touch around the rim plus decent free throw shooting suggests a chance to develop a 3-point shot (or at least a midrange shot), moves his feet really well considering his size, got better every year at Purdue and improved his conditioning, plays with an edge and shows toughness.
I find it really hard to believe he isn't one of the best 10 prospects in the draft, let alone top 30.
Sure. I don't have him far outside, but I think he's going to be marginalized by team speed in the NBA. His game is rim to rim and he's not winning any footraces. He's not Tacko Fall - he has strengths that Tacko Fall absolutely does not have, and shooting is a swing skill for him whereas Tacko becoming a reliable shooter was never really a thought - but he does have some of the same limitations. It's just not enough to jog 96 feet and jockey for position in the NBA. If you can't pass, shoot, dribble, or run at age 22, your path is extremely narrow.
Thanks for the reply. I think his level of dominance over a large sample size along with his competitiveness and track record of rapid improvement makes that path quite a bit wider than one might think. Will be fun to watch it play out.
He's taken all comers, I'm rooting for him.
