What sucks even more is that the talent is still too spread out in the west for anyone to beat the Warriors. The Rockets/Spurs/OKC are all still at least one guy away from beating them.

More like they're at least one guy from even competing with them. They're a guy away from being a guy away from even being close to beating the warriors :(

Signing a FA is hardly going all in. Just saying...

it is if he gets a 4 year max which will still be on the books when we need to extend Booker and co

Nobody is giving Millsap the max. He's 32, gimme a break.

As long as the Warriors don't resign Zaza i think the Spurs can compete.

I don't care how many players join those other teams. That team in nearly unbeatable if they are healthy with that shooting and defense. I mean you have two or three of the best historic shooters in the game that move the ball, playing with DPOY guy who can also shoot 3s and have like 10 assists. Their chemistry is too special to be beaten in a series...something would have to be off, like an injury, someone leaving, etc.

I wonder how much of this is Pritchard and Bird just wanting to get this over with so they can move on instead of having this drama carry on into the free agency period. I would imagine players would be less willing to come into an uncertain situation, and nabbing guys early is important.

plot twist: the Spurs lure away Zaza and become the first 82-0 team

oh, you mean for that reason. Well the Spurs used to have Bruce Bowen, I'm sure they'll put Zaza's skills to good use lol

Millsap would be a really nice piece to help us get competitive.

You have to walk before you run in this league, you can't keep stacking losing seasons on top of each other. Booker is going into year 3..... I'm all about bringing in Millsap, not at a max level, but at a significant salary.

So is OKC going to play 2 on 5?

I mean, other then PG and Westbrook, they have a bunch of scrubs. The only other decent player is Adams.

You gotta think they would go hard after some more free agents if they have the cap room?

Spurs have more question marks than they've had in the past. Ginobili may retire, who knows if Parker comes back at the same level.

But definitely agree that at least they're the closest.

Yeah even if it's just a 1 year rental, that's a hell of a deal.

I would've done Knight and Warren for George even if there was no guarantee he would resign here.

the guarantee that the final 3 years of Knight's contract is gone outweighs the almost non-guarantee that George would resign here lol

I honestly think part of it is to just screw over Boston and Cleveland. If you are in the east, with those teams having so many assets and players already, and they are haggling with you, I'd probably say screw these guys, they are in my conference....send him to the other conference...heck, lets give OKC a replacement for Durant (ok, they probably didn't think about that last part, but I would have since I think he screwed them)....I think the return is pretty good for a guy that was going to leave.

Can we trade our team to the Eastern Conference? Our team as it stands is a 3-4 seed in the East.

I don't understand something. Do you guys don't want Millsap as a player or as a 4 year max contract? Because Millsap is hell of a player and I'll be happy with a 2-3 year max deal.
