Not a letdown at all. Gaffigan is amazing.

Somewhat of a false alarm. He's the first act ANNOUNCED. Not the first act to play.

That's fine if you like him, but let's at least get a bigger known act. I feel like he plays in MKE 4 times a year.

Gaffigan is funny but he's played here so many times already. Nothing special about this as the first "concert". He usually plays 2 or 3 dates at the Pabst, seating capacity 1500.

It's on 9/22, the arena won't be open much before then if at all. So he could very well be the first act. Disappointing. Hopefully a bigger name actually opens the arena sometime earlier in September.

How is Jim Gaffigan not a big act? He's easily one of the biggest names in comedy.

Gaffigan is a big name no doubt. I like the guy. It's just that he's played Milwaukee so many times (his wife is from here), it's not really a big event that he's coming back for the 57th time.

The BC's first gig was a Blackhawk's preseason game so we've definitely improved on that.

Tell that to the folks at the Harley 100-year Anniversary, who were promised an amazing surprise final act and were treated to...wait for it...Elton John.

(Which, by the way, I like Elton John, but he's not who Harley Riders were anticipating).

Oh man that was brutal. All the rumors flying around and then Elton. Someone spotted Mick Jagger at the airport. U2 was holding rehearsals nearby. Springsteen was seen at the Pfister. They haven't done the surprise thing since.

There was only one person who could properly open the new FoxxAmazon Arena

and they settled for Jim Gaffigan. Who was in charge of making the choice: Alex Lasry?

Nah he's too busy finding the next Joe Alexander.

Elton John is a Rock N' Roll legend and people who were disappointed in that were damn fools. I'd take him over U2 any day of the week.

The Amazon (Fulfillment) Center has a nice ring to it. Seriously though, if it was just called "The Amazon" it would have a pretty cool ring to it.

I thought I heard a story that they had someone much more for the Harley crowd that had to back out at the last minute and they went with the biggest name they could find on short notice that was available.

I think that was the cover story after all the negative reaction.
