Here we go with the "there won't be a lockout" talk by the league. Show the books or shut the **** up.

Bucks with an under the radar treadmill of the century off season. They just gave over max cap space to Matthew Dellavedova, Miles Plumlee and Mirza Teletovic. Between those dudes, Henson and Monroe they will have more than 60% of the cap tied up the next two years with an extension for Giannis upcoming.

Not sure if any team bought more into the idea of overspending for guys due to a rising cap.

Jason Kidd is the spiritual second coming of Joe Dumars' GM tenure.

no decent free agent is going to Milwaukee anyway so might as well pay somebody.

Mike Gorman calling the action right now in the Spain vs Croatia game. Saric is playing for Croatia, slick driver and passer but very timid and can't shoot a lick. Gasol by far the best player on the court as expected

Gorman is doing a good job. And ditto, Gasol just eating lunch out there. Hezonja looking quick out there too. Maybe we'll get a Bender sighting.

Willy Hermangomez looks mobile, but overmatched strength-wise.

Don't know the extent of Kidd's GM-ing there, it's still Hammond in charge.

Mirza on a three-year deal is fine, but Plumlee is a mistake and Henson is bad money.

Henson's contract actually declines annually, but dips to 9.7 million in its last year, 2019-20. He looked like he was late-blooming a couple of years ago, and with his quickness and defensive ability, still only 25, not a bad prospect. But they signed him to that big deal and then gave him 16 minutes a night last year....

Apparently Giannis' max (same draft class as Olynyk and Noel) will be almost 24 million in its first year.

And leave aside the fact that Middleton, Giannis and Jabari haven't proven that they can actually fit together.

Other under-the-radar awful off-season goes to the Pelicans, who gave big-ish money to Solomon Hill and Etwaun Moore, both role-players, and added a player in Buddy Hield who will, in a best-case scenario, only replace the production they lost from Eric Gordon.

Yeah I mean any of those deals in a vacuum could be ok but in totality they are spending more than half the cap on guys that aren't really starter level players, then have three guys that will have to be paid money but aren't elite.

On the fit thing, I look at it as more an issue of overall ability. Either Jabari can shoot the three and is a decent fit, or he can't shoot the three effectively enough to overcome his other issues and he subsequently just isn't a remarkable player. Problem is he has high expectations and a high price tag.

Middleton fits anywhere, Giannis does need some team fit help but if Jabari is a combo forward that only shoots mid-range twos, rebounds and can't shoot from deep or play defense that is a bad fit anywhere outside the last decade or prior.

$60M in mediocre bench players doesn't fit anywhere else either.

Venezuela is a scrappy team. Gotta give them some props. Nowhere near talented enough offensively to win this one though.
