Player: Paolo Banchero
Position: Power Forward

Paolo Banchero is a starting power forward with a mixed performance across various statistical categories. Out of 53 power forwards in the dataset, Banchero excels in some areas while struggling in others.

Strengths:

Banchero is a proficient scorer, ranking in the 81.1th percentile for points.
He demonstrates strong playmaking abilities for his position, ranking in the 80.2nd percentile for assists.
Banchero is effective at drawing shooting fouls, ranking in the 98.1st percentile for shooting fouls drawn and the 94.3rd percentile for free throw rate (FTr).
He ranks highly in generating points through assists, sitting in the 86.8th percentile.
Banchero's And1 percentile is impressive at 94.3, showcasing his ability to convert through contact.
Areas for improvement:

Banchero struggles with efficiency in various shooting ranges, ranking in the lower percentiles for FG% (17.9th percentile) and 3P% (22.6th percentile).
His defensive impact is limited, ranking in the 17.9th percentile for defensive box plus/minus (DBPM) and the 51.9th percentile for blocks.
Banchero's on-court and on-off percentile rankings are low, at 17.9th and 14.2th percentiles, respectively, indicating that his presence on the court may not contribute significantly to the team's success.
In summary, Paolo Banchero is a skilled power forward with strong scoring, playmaking, and foul-drawing abilities. However, he needs to improve his shooting efficiency and defensive impact, as well as contribute more positively to his team's overall performance.

Damn these chatGPT outputs never fail to scare the crap out of me with how good they are. Well maybe not enough because I am currently prompting it to help me debug my graduate programming course work lol.
I use it everyday in my job. It's so good at coding, I just give it a script I've put together and ask it to refactor it so it's modular and extensible and Bam! I'm also using it (the OpenAI API) for named entity recognition on product titles. It's just a game changer. So many applications. Like here, just feed it percentiles with context and it spits out a player summary. AI is really here.
Those charts require too much thought. I have a data analytics cert, but I have a job now where I literally just sit in front of my computer and play on my phone for 8 hours a day, mon-fri.

This list is very manipulative tho.

You score more points by shooting more. And having guy like Kesslen a list is hilarius attemp to manipulate. Kessler took 414 shots whole season long. Banchero took 1132.
Even guys like Jalen Williams, Murray and others still took 300+ shots less.

Banchero and Edwards in 2021 took soo much more shots than any other rookie that it's not really suprising they had most 20+ points games based on FGA disparity. Edwards thing was even more noticable,he had 55 games with 20+ points but he shot even more than Banchero.

Even within a Magic team you can see difference. Franz Wagner as a rookie only took 15 or more shots-17 times. Banchero took 15 or more shots-42 times.

It's not really AI. It's an algorithm that scans the internet and looks for patterns and regurgitates that in a programmed fashion. It's essentially scouring the internet to steal other people's posts and ideas while giving them no credit or compensation. And if it scans crap it will spit out crap. It's a tool with potential for efficiency but it's not AI, not even close.

Yes the ol stats can prove anything.

I really do think we have a winner in Paolo. Yes, Mike James once scored 20ppg on a bad team, but he didn't do it in his rookie season either.

“I was craving basketball for so long that I enjoyed this a lot,” said Bitadze...

What a quote. I love this attitude!

And:
"As a group, we all have to get better. There’s a huge chance for us to get really far. Slowing down? No. I’m probably going just going to go straight to work. I’m taking this really seriously. I don’t want this to slow down. I just want to attack this for real.”

Josh Giddey in play-in victory last night:

31 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists, 11-22, 3-7

Why?

I saw that too. OKC is going to be a real problem for the West pretty soon with the talent they have and the picks they've acquired.

Suggs had a better profile and higher expectations coming into the draft. Giddey has looked good offensively, but bad defensively. Suggs the opposite (though both shooting 32% from 3 this year). we'll have to see how this turns out after another year or 2.

i didn't think P5 would be unanimous anyway, i felt there would be someone that would spoil the party.....either some homer from one of the other teams....and sure enough...either way it doesn't matter P is the hands down ROY by a landslide....

Let's say we win the 1st pick and Luka demands a trade this summer because Kyrie leaves.

Would you trade the #1, #11, 2024 1st, the better of our 2 2025 1sts, and contracts that match for Luka?

Or do you just take Wemby, keep all your assets and keep building?

I'm struggling with the question myself... but I think you have to make that trade, right?

I mean, think of the marketing behind 'Luka Magic'

It's not debatable who is better, it's like Banchero vs Kessler "debate".

This is a no-brainer YES.

Dončić is a top-5 baller in the NBA. He is young and on a palatable contract. To get Dončić for only picks: heck yes!

Or do you just take Wemby, keep all your assets and keep building?

Wembanyama will probably be very good. But nothing is ever certain. Nobody has any idea how his game translates to the NBA. At best he is Durant with defense. At worse he's Shawn Bradley (many here will be too young to remember the pre-draft hype for him. He was supposed to "change basketball").

In the end Wembanyama is probably a healthy Porziņģis. That's really nice. But it's not Dončić.

tough.....it's luka....but at the same time there are some aspects about luka himself that needs to be addressed....him not really being in the best shape....being a nothing burger on defense.....team offense would change into "luka ball" with his absolute domination of the ball....that being said it's luka.......tough.......luka is fully realized vs the idea of what wemby could be which is truly something to think about because at best wemby would be a real life 2k video game myplayer....i don't know....truly
