Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Think with the PJ deal it was add the FRP or have Josh in the deal over Grant. The 2nds maybe go to Wizards???
They still will have 2 FRPs to trade this summer.

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Well they got their big wing in PJ. They also got their backup Center, now they just need their PF which they hopefully can get in the off season. The roster is shaping up nicely. Hopefully they can make a run in the second half of the season. We just need Kyrie and Luka to play most of their games at the same time.

Why would Mavs need Dinwiddie?
With all the injuries, He'd get 30 MPG...
Defense wins draft lotteries!
Fortune favours the bold, so it ducked Nico Harrison.

Gafford does not have near the lateral speed and mobility to cover the perimeter like Lively.
Lively has basically mastered the center position, and if he can develop a reliable jumper, the Mavs can experiment with a twin tower frontcourt at least in certain situations like playing SA.
I don't know, something is defending perimeter, when being switched and something totally different doing that constantly. Lively can't shoot at all at the moment, from there to having reliable jumper is mission impossible in most cases.
I believe the best solution is using both on C and if Lively becomes great starting C in few years time, you simply trade Gafford for what you need then.
Remember Lively hitting like 21 3 pointers in a row in practice?
I think the skill is there.
I don't remember seeing Lively even trying any kind of jumper in the game. Even his shots near the rim are mostly some kind of hooks.

That's a hefty price for PJ...but if PJ could net CHA a first rounder then maybe Green can too in the offseason

For what it's worth, PJ is an inch taller, has 3" more WS, and 3" more vertical than Williams.

There's no point in making Lively or Gafford PF...they can share the C position and you can go with the hot hand from game to game

Might also have THJ on an expiring contract too.

We still need someone who can handle the ball and is reliable off the bench and he played very well when he was here. Kyrie and Luka cant be the only ones. Cant rely on Hardy or Green.
I’m just glad Grant is gone. We straight up needed more talent. Waiting on Gafford to finalize

That's a lot to throw at a 19 yo kid, but the point is now they can experiment more because they have someone that has similar defensive skills.
Lively's got a decent looking jumper.

That’s exactly how they will be used. They should each average around 25 min per game. That allows the defense to always have a rim protector on the court.

The nuclear codes are easier to obtain than the pick compensation for Daniel **** Gafford!

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
If they can keep Hardy and Green in all of these trades this could be incredibly valuable in the coming off season. Hoping both have decent rest of the season and playoffs, Mavs could potentially get a serious upgrade for both.
I was only afraid they'll lose Green for PJ because they wouldn't have anyone to replace Green other than THJ and i would cut my eyes out with a tootbrush if i had to watch that.

It also makes it easier to trade THJ in the off season. He could be a cheaper replacement?

Top 2 protected pick for PJ Washington, Nico should be fired before the trade deadline is over.

It would be criminal to ignore a 7'1" player's shooting ability if it is there.
This kid is only 19 and I doubt he has hit his ceiling.

It just shows how horrible Grant has been and how desperate Nico is for an ugprade
