The BC's first gig was a Blackhawk's preseason game so we've definitely improved on that.

The video made it sound like this is going to be one of his recorded specials. It will say whether it is when all the tickets are released. That’s how it worked when I saw the Sklar brothers at least.

Tickets go on sale in a couple of weeks. Presale a couple of days before the public. The presale code is BACON for anyone buying tickets. I haven't seen prices yet.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bucks should just offer free naming rights to Amazon. 50k $100k/year jobs would bring in a lot more to the team then the cost of the naming rights.

Not for a Harley event.

At least they got Kid Rock.

Kid Rock is perfect for Harley and in fact he was at the last Harley Fest at the Summerfest grounds.

If the first booking at the new arena was a concert and the act was REO Speedwagon, I'd be wondering what the hell was going on. I get it, I'm just not sure what exactly you are expecting. As far as comedy goes, Gaffigan is pretty close to as big of a get as you can get.

It's on 9/22, the arena won't be open much before then if at all. So he could very well be the first act. Disappointing. Hopefully a bigger name actually opens the arena sometime earlier in September.

From the article:
"Gaffigan's show is the first concert announcement for the new arena, but it won't be the first one at the venue, Saha said. The grand opening date and artist will be announced by the end of the year or early next year, Saha said"

Ok that makes sense. Someone else actually opening the place.

And I'm not bashing Gaffigan at all. He IS big in comedy. But as I said he's performed here a lot, it's not really an "event".

I've never really watched or listened to Gaffigan's comedy but he was amazing as Roy on That 70s Show.

I hope the opening act is either Eminem or a country music act because then everyone will be happy.

Not for a Harley event.

While I totally agree, we have to remember that half of the Harley riders nowadays are doctors, lawyers and every day Joe Schmoe's.

Good point. Every Harley Fest (and Sturgis) has tons of bikes shipped in, owners fly in and then ride around a bit before shipping their bikes home.

Gaffigan will sell out. A combination of people loving him here and it being one of the first events in the new place. Great choice.

I've seen him at the Pabst in years past. Those multiple shows he does over the Holidays are always packed. The only question is will the new arena concessions sell Hot Pockets. 8-)

I fully expect the new owners to get Jay-Z or something.

Right, I picture the average Harley rider to be a middle-aged baby boomer, so aside from like The Rolling Stones or The Who, it seems like a fine choice. I think the big mistake was making it a secret announcement. Everyone had their own personal wish as to who that would be - it was going to be very difficult to not disappoint a decent number of people.

That'd be dope. Hopefully all the big names that skip Milwaukee (Kendrick, J Cole, I'm lookin at you) end up making stops here now.

Could see a Chance the Rapper doing something and providing transport for Chicago metro people, just because he might be the coolest philanthropist in music today and is connected to Chicago - would be a huge draw.

I'm just glad we have a real venue for shows/concerts and couldn't give a sh*t about who is there first. Not even the slightest bit of relevance.

They should have Giannis open the new arena with his stand-up show.

Now a days maybe, but back then the reaction to my boi Elton was pretty harsh. Lots of pissed off bikers left.
