Except Oladipo was never handed a new contract at all and his value wasn’t determined yet. Also didn’t know we were contemplating a trade for Dipo in his rookie or sophomore seasons.

ATM, Fournier is a more than serviceable 2. All this Beal talk is fixing a position that isn’t really broken enough to need fixing. Like changing out the bandaging on an old wound when there’s a fresh one bleeding profusely elsewhere.

Your post makes no sense. When we traded Dipo people were talking about how Payton would develop to fill his role. Payton was on his rookie deal just like Isaac, Dipo is basically the AG situation yeah we didn't pay him yet but it's the same idea trading a player who is better now to put our eggs in the basket of a player on their rookie deal who may never reach that players level.

The post makes perfect sense. You pretty much figured it out yourself. Yeah trading players on rookie deals is pretty dumb unless they are outright busts or won’t see playing time for the foreseeable future. Which if that is the case then why draft and invest in them at all. Oladipo was never viewed as a true point guard, so the argument was about skill sets not matching with EP. It was more about Fournier and Dipo and who fit better with EP.

Almost sounds like you think Fournier is better than Beal.

Fournier is a fine starter if you can leave him as a second or even third option.

Trading for Beal is an attempt to bring in that alpha scorer that we've been needing for years.

If Fournier is your 2nd or 3rd option you're probably not a playoff team. Hence why we're probably not a playoff team.

He can be 3rd option. Assuming he is not throwing bricks like this year.

Wonder why Parson's doesn't get a medical retirement? He really hasn't played for 3.5 years do to knee injuries.

If the FO's plan is to win games this year, am I stupid for wanting Wall for nothing? It ain't my money.

I’m firmly on board with Wall in a salary dump situation. Why not?

Fournier, Mozgov, Grant, OKC 1st for Wall, Morris and Bryant with Washington picking up Wall’s trade kicker.

Wall/Augustin
Ross/Simmons
Issac/Iwundu
Gordon/Morris
Vucevic/Bamba

Who is running them? BIlly King or Isiah Thomas?
i''ll bet even they would pass

???

Only one pick in the deal and it’s a first rounder from Orlando to Washington.

Morris and Bryant are just expiring contracts.

I'm passing on any deal for Wall because the FA pgs this year are too good

Other than Wall needing to be ridiculously paid, it’s always a bad idea to pay a player reliant on speed and athleticism that has shown he doesn’t take care of his body, isn’t a good teammate, and is probably a locker room cancer.

NO to Wall. I would rather have DJ.

Also, the Wizards would probably have to give up more assets for someone to take Wall off their hands. Why? Because his contract is insane and he isn’t a proven winner.

Is it? Aside from Kemba and Kyrie(which we arent getting), what PG come out next year that are better then some we can trade for?

I can only think of DLo, Rubio, and maybe Dinwidie. Not really stars but decent better then DJ/Grant backcourt.

Bledsoe and maybe Dragic. I don't think we need to get a star, but a great vet on a 2 year contract is my preferred choice

Bledsoe isnt that much of an upgrade and is pushing the wrong side of his career with all those knee injuries. Dragic I acutally would not mind for a two year deal. He is 32 and can still play. Can prob give you another 2-3 solid years of starter material. I dont know if he will opt out of a 19mil deal with Miami though. I think he opts in since nobody is going to give him that type of money this year.

Russell
Dinwiddie
Rozier
Rubio
Brogdon
Wright
Teague
Dragic
Murray
Bledsoe

Lower end potential targets

Colilson
Joseph
Sato
Lin
Jones

Jamal Murray could be on the block and I'm not too convinced that we do not have a shot at Kemba. A lot dictates on how this season goes.

Also, we could be in perfect position to draft Ja Morant
