If Bam plays today it would be the perfect opportunity to run a starting lineup of
Lowry
Strus
Martin
Jovic
Bam
And really the starting line up with what we have should be:
Vincent
Herro
Butler
Jovic
Bam

My condolences.

Feel free to OP, contract. I’ve had to start 2 previous GT’s, and I’m bad juju.

Here's an entertainment oriented front office idea, instead of trading for Westbrook, trade for LeBron and do a retirement tank for Wembanyama.
2 birds

I'll come out and say it.... we're not winning anything on Butler's time line. And next year he'll be a year older and making 50 mil. Lowry another year older and making 30 mil. Herro 30 mil. Robinson 18 mil. Dedmon 10. Dipo 10. Caleb ~10 mil. Strus is a free agent. Gabe is a free agent.
It's time to blow it all up. Trade Lowry for a first if you can. See if you can get a first for strus and Gabe heck even two seconds for each. And lastly trade Jimmy for 4 firsts and try to do right by him by sending him to a good team. Tank and go for wemby or scoot. And come back with wemby or scoot, Herro,Jovic, Bam and have a plethora of picks to either trade or round out the roster and do a proper rebuild. We need to do a proper rebuild. This team is not doing anything even when we have everyone available. The ship has sailed.

We wouldn't do it, but it's the Boston reset when they shipped off KG and Pierce. Worked out for them...

Jimmy’s trade market is not 4 picks. You said it yourself, a year older next year making 50 mil, everyone else in the league can see that too, 2 picks (1 being unprotected) and a scrap player or two is the best realistic offer we’d get, or an established player + protected pick.
Im all in moving everyone else though, starting with Lowry

Yes. Exactly. If you purge this mess of a roster you make a strong play in a very good draft. You can also get out from under some hideous contracts.
Now Butler deserves better, but if you take his contract with Lowry, Dipo and Duncan you've got $102 million in salary next year. That's a lot of cap...

If you’re trading Jimmy you need to be getting a young stud back that you consider a core building block with Bam.
An SGA/Fox/Ingram/Brown/etc.
Would have to be a 3 team trade in the SGA/Fox scenario as you want to give Jimmy the chance to win somewhere

Whos the best young player we can legit get for Jimmy right now?
he's better then those 3 names, but are the Kings/Pelicans/Celtics doing that trade?

Jimmy makes no sense to those teams. Jimmy makes the most sense to a team near contending or contending. It's not like Jimmy gives it his all during the regular season so that destroys his value, sure in the playoffs hes great but if the team is not good enough to get into the playoffs like us currently constructed what's the point when hes paid near 50 mil a year?

Won’t know unless we try!
I’m not embracing the tank yet though, not unless we still haven’t made moves through December

Celtics and Pelicans aren’t contending or near contending with the addition of the best player in the playoffs last year and a top 10 player in the world?
But also that’s why I mentioned having to do a 3 team trade to get Jimmy somewhere to contend in the SGA/Fox scenarios

It's very hard to make a trade that would make sense in a 3 way since the pieces contenders have dont help rebuilding teams when they trade away their star players. Then remember Fox is with Klutch so thats a no no. Honestly tanking makes more sense and is more realistic in this instance unfortunately.

Draft picks help them, Fox is just one of many scenarios.

High draft picks, trading your star for pick from a contender makes little sense unless that contender is a pretender or very old, and all of those picks would need to be unprotected. Again it's just easier to blow up our team because of all the self inflicted moves we have made.
SGA is playing like an MVP, you only trade someone like him for a generational talent, it's basically a simple way of saying that's not happening.

Keep Butler, cut salary in Lowry and Duncan, sell high on Strus. Draft PG Cason Wallace. Nice soft rebuild.

And SGA if traded will garner a generational haul we don’t have so you can give that dream up lol
