But it is a big deal. Just another big name FA that chose not to come to Phoenix. Its becoming an epidemic. Who is the last big name FA that we landed? Exactly. We used to be a hotbed for star FA's, and now we cant even get guys to sign with us that have us up on their Mt. Rushmore of basketball cities.

Its a bad look.

He "spurned" us for the richest contract in NBA history. We didn't take an L here.

Isn't Nash the last big time FA we signed? Kind of depressing realizing that. It should change with wins....but you kind of need those big signings to get those wins...kind of a crappy chicken-and-egg situation when you've been losing for so long :(

Thats a little misleading though since the suns were completely capped out from when Nash signed until that year amare left and they spent foolishly on childress and warrick and then were capped out again for a while after that. Had they managed their cap better they could have landed some good FAs in the nash years. The McD era is really the first time chasing fa for a while.

I'm not sure how it's misleading, the simple fact is that we haven't had a big free agent acquisition since 2004. Being at cap due to bad signings doesn't make that better in any way. I hear what your'e saying that we've only recently had the space to go after someone major, but fans don't reset with each new GM. 13+ years is a loooooong time.

That being said, I'm actually very happy waiting another year or two to see if our young guys can make the Suns a destination again!

It's always good for us when we are mentioned. But yeah $173 million is nice for Blake. He can buy a crapload of Kia's.

If Booker, Jackson, Chriss, Bender and etc. is still being on a losing team after 4-5 years, then they are the reasons of losing.

I understand that. But my thing is....Booker is a stud. We know that. But our "Fandom" also puts blinders on us, and what if Chriss/Bender/Jackson arnt half as good as we think they will be. Then is it Bookers fault and the reason we are losing? Because we were to resilient to not go after some established talent because we all hope that the other guys would turn out? We tend to hold on to youngsters and even when they dont shine, always make excuses for them and it turns into this, "One More Year". This guy just needs one more year and then he'll show everybody" or "That guy needs one more year before i'll admit that his just an average or below average player". By then its too late.

I see your point. But you can't say that we didn't go for a star in this case. I think McDonough tried to add a star in every offseason.

I hope Denver offer Millsap the max.

New GM for Orlando is getting Ingles @ $15m per year.

I swear, when i look at the Trade Machine, none of the teams that could really use Bledsoe have anything im interested in.

Also it doesn't make sense a team would trade us a more suitable Point Guard for Bledsoe, because why.

All these guys need time. Booker acts like a stud and has had some great games, but he still has work to do himself if he is going to be a premier player. NTB posted Len's PER earlier as 15 and average. Booker's was 14.6. While PER is far from a perfect measure, no advanced stat metric sheds Booker in a positive light. All these other guys have a chance of being as good or better. They were all drafted higher. Now that doesn't necessarily mean much, but I wouldn't give up on them while proclaiming another guy a star. I'm high on Booker but not that much higher than any of our other young players..it's not like he's become close to an all star level player or anything yet.

Ingles is a good role player but 15 million dollars a friggin year!

WOW, I'm gonna genetically create a 6'10 person and have him play basketball from age 2.... then inject all sorts of stuff to make him athletic and strong.. Investing!

I keep saying it, but I like millsap as a good bridge player for us.

I think the kids need another vet that can actually play. Our kids need to start playing meaningful basketball.

People act like being the 8th seed is a bad thing, it would be tremendous for Booker/Chris's/Bender/Jackson to get that playoff experience.

Now I don't love millsap, wouldn't do a full max for him.... so maybe it's a non starter, but I'd love to have him.

We have to start winning as a franchise, we have a core now.

Atlanta needs salary to reach the cap floor. Makes you wonder what we might be able to offload.

If they take BK I'd throw in the MIA pick with how bad the East looks. Heat will make the postseason for sure.

I would've done Knight and Warren for George even if there was no guarantee he would resign here.

It's amazing how often Knight gets thrown into these deals like he is a positive asset. I don't even think a team would take him on for a 2nd round pick even if we include Warren, and I love Warren. Much less a superstar.

Knight and his 3y/$44M is a better asset than Oladipo's 4y/$84M.

Well that certainly depends on one's perspective and opinion. I certainly don't think Knight and Chriss would have gotten George...and certainly not Knight and Sabonis if we had him.

I would never refer to Knight and his contract as an asset though. It is most definitely a liability.

173 mil? You have got to be fing kidding me. Major bullet dodge. Cant imagine giving Griffin that contact. even 130 for 4 years was crazy. Seriously if I ever hear the owners whining about player salaries being it of control during the next CBA I'm gonna lose it.

If we still have him at that time and he has that many suitors, I doubt we would make a big effort to give him a max to keep him.

I've acquiesed to the reality that Eric Bledsoe will remain in Phoenix until such time that his exit will be ugly and/or unsatisfying to a Suns fan.

Minnesota have traded Rubio to Utah for a future 1st.

They must have a PG lined up in 30 minutes.
