Seems impossible, but the severely undermanned Nuggets pulled off a victory over one of the hottest teams in the NBA tonight. On a back to back no less.

My tiny pea brain originally assumed it was a good fit since you've got a top player at guard and a top player at big. But Stan Van Gundy was on NBATV yesterday and took a big dump on the pairing and made me wonder about it.

Sixers offense runs through MVP candidate Joel, throwing him the ball in the post or on the elbow and letting him go to work and either score or pass it out. But Harden is either first or second (behind Luka) in every stat category as far as dominating the ball. Most touches, length of touches, number of dribbles, etc etc.

And Harden has played the same way everywhere he's gone. He straight up dominates the ball and the offense. But the Sixers still need to remain "Embiid's team" and run through him.

So maybe it's an awful fit? And losing Seth Curry's shooting hurts them quite a bit. Would be pretty cool of the Sixers are actually worse now.

it's going to work. The offense has run through Embiid but that's because they didn't have a true PG. On paper, Harden and Embiid should be able to run PnR to perfection. Harden spaces for Embiid and vice versa, so they compliment each other's games. And both can "get theirs" at any time so scoring won't be an issue. They've got a really well-rounded squad, like the Nets, Heat and Bucks. I think those are the top 4 teams. And like most of us thought before the season, we're in that next group with very little chance to reach the finals.

Also klay dropping 16 in the 4th with some vintage Klay moments was pretty cool.

We only beat them because they weren't fully healthy. Why didn't Tor do the same with Nuggets on a B2B, should have been so easy according to some on here. :o

I know it’s been mentioned a grip but the raptors play by play guy has the worst voice I’ve ever heard. It’s like the Indianapolis colts guy times 1000.

The Sixers are good enough now to contend. Only thing stopping them is themselves.

Bucks and Miami are talented, deep and well coached, but they aren’t a “powerhouse” like the Warriors used to be.

The weak points for the Sixers are , if Harden and Embiid can hold up healthy in the playoffs. Embiid had literally limped this team along his back all season…how much longer can he hold up? 2, how long will it take for them to integrate…and I’m not talking about beating some bottom teams..but realy play team ball against a good team in a seven game series…LASTLY …will Harden flake out and leave Philly…? That’s the biggest whammy for them.

For us…we really need Tatum, Brown and even Rob to get to that “next level”. They do that and we are in it too.

The Raps guys sound like pro wrestlers calling a monster truck show.

That new gal who does the Sixers is super annoying too. Kate Scott I think. She screeches at 800 decibels every time the Sixers score.

And let's not talk about the pbp guy for the Hornets. Holy cow.

Not impossible when you have a proper star like Jokic. That's why I was happy we took care of business with them. They're undermanned, etc, but I think Jokic is the best player on the floor most nights, and his balance of scoring and passing is good these days.

This'll sound disparaging, but I honestly don't mean it to be.
Nurse reminds me of a really good coach in the local championship league, whose team always has some well-drilled trick play, or junk defence they can roll out on a moment's notice.

Makes me chuckle seeing it at the NBA level, but speaks to some work being put in, as well.

this thread is reminding me of Nick Nurse strutting around all over the court during game time which makes me mad at him all over again.

Even though we BEAT THEM then and just PASSED THEM now get offffff the court guy
Paul Pierce appreciation society.

Clips fans seem super down on their medical staff. Apparently Powell had foot soreness, but was cleared to return to the game, only to later be diagnosed with a broken foot.

The PI call? Higgins' second TD should have been called back, so it was a makeup call at worst.
