The dude just starts moving differently and everything goes in. And its not just him getting more shots, its him having the ball in his hands, feeling comfortable, and finding his rhythm. Its hard to do that just hoisting up catch and shoot 3s sporadically throughout the game.
this link has some relative stats
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/touches?dir=D&sort=TOUCHES
touches per game
Giannis 78.9
Lillard 77.1
so basically the same (and if we consider Giannis gets more rebounds, he is passed the ball less)
seconds per touch
Giannis 3.5
Lillard 5.4
so he keeps the ball more. So it is not like he just hoists catch and shoot. (this could be skewed by who brings the ball up though)
then if you look the stats for pnr handlers
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/ball-handler?dir=D&sort=PPP
Giannis 4 possessions for 1.17 points per possession (one of the highest points per possession)
Lillard 10.3 possessions for 1.01 points per possession
by the way Lillard's 10.3 pnr per game is 7th in the league running more pnr than Haliburton and Curry for example
based on the above I disagree that Lillard does not get the ball enough. Surprisingly It seems we should increase further the pnr with Giannis as the ball handler
