1. Expedition 33
2. Hades 2
3. Death Stranding 2
4. Silksong
5. Blue Prince

Haven't played Split Fiction, Final Fantasy Tactics, Trails in the Sky FC, or Yotei - won't ever be able to play Bananaza (obligatory **** you Nintendo). Crazy crazy year.

Why can't you ever play DK Bonanza?

I, on principal, will never purchase a Nintendo system again, thus locking me out of Nintendo exclusives.

My backlog is way too long right now to justify buying it, but it sounds like The Outer Worlds 2 is legitimately good and a pretty big upgrade over the original. I am a lot more intrigued than I expected to be.

Also going to give the Dispatch demo a go and potentially buy the full game.

Sounds interesting. The first Outer Worlds was probably one of the most underwhelming and disappointing games I've ever played relative to the hype. If they took to heart the failings of the first one (too linear, tiny maps, severe lack of customization options), might be worth picking it up.

Should mention both reviews I've watched/read mentioned the first act is a slog but after that, it sounds like exactly the type of open world game that I actually like, where you make political decisions that have a huge impact on the world around you (I generally do not like open world games anymore).

Edit: One really silly fun feature they added for Outer Worlds 2 is the idea of character "flaws". For example, if you skip over the dialog too much, your character develops a flaw where you have a very short time limit to select what you want to say during conversations before the game randomly selects a line for you. Or another example is that if you pickpocket/steal too often, you develop the "klepto" flaw where your character will automatically steal things sometimes even in inopportune moments.

I finished and generally enjoyed the first Outer Worlds, but I thought it was also pretty straightforward and surprising small and simple. TOW2 is a Game Pass game so I'm sure I'll give it a look. Probably as something to break up my time with NG2, which I'm finding extremely hard.

Dispatch is great, albeit short (at least at the moment). Finished the two episodes that are out in ~1.5-2 hours. It absolutely nails the feel of a Invincible-esq playable cartoon.

ReasonablySober wrote:Finished Tactics on the hardest difficulty. Wasn't over-leveled by any means and I think I ran a pretty simple party at the end without any special gear besides Chantages to keep me alive. Didn't use a single named character, just Ramza and the four randoms I started the game with. Whenever I play this again I'm gonna force myself to use the side characters I pick up along the way.

The named characters have extra voice acting in boss fights if you keep them alive except the final one.
