Should mention both reviews I've watched/read mentioned the first act is a slog but after that, it sounds like exactly the type of open world game that I actually like, where you make political decisions that have a huge impact on the world around you (I generally do not like open world games anymore).
Edit: One really silly fun feature they added for Outer Worlds 2 is the idea of character "flaws". For example, if you skip over the dialog too much, your character develops a flaw where you have a very short time limit to select what you want to say during conversations before the game randomly selects a line for you. Or another example is that if you pickpocket/steal too often, you develop the "klepto" flaw where your character will automatically steal things sometimes even in inopportune moments.
