Mitchell Robinson gave some good minutes too. I like that NY isn't at all afraid of Wemby and they're just taking it to him. They have bigger, stronger centers and they're going to make sure Wemby knows it.

I also said the Knicks in 6… right after another poster said the Spurs were going to sweep them.

Knicks are showing what happens when you have the advantage in experience and chemistry…and amazing confidence.

Not to mention coaching as well. Mike Brown is the anti-Thibs. He’s not afraid to give bench guys like Shamet, McBride and Alvarado quality minutes.

Before the series began, Jamal Crawford said the winner will be whoever wins the matchup between Victor and KAT. He favored KAT. Bold considering how dominant Wemby was against OKC.

This series is bit like the one with Hakeem against Shaq and the rest of the young Orlando Magic. No one stopped Shaq. He just couldn't dominate Hakeem. Victor can't shut Karl Anthony Towns down. The Knicks are a cohesive, experienced team.

NYK is almost certainly going to win this series now, possibly by a sweep.

Kat is definitely the key. The Spurs have no answer for him. Remember that he went H2H against Jokic in the playoffs a lot and held up well. If he doesnt get in foul trouble the game wouldn't have been so close at the end.

Agreed.

Online consensus seems to be those were phantom fouls. I might have to re-watch to confirm. But it was pretty clear the officials were favoring the Spurs. The Knicks only attempted 5 free throws in the 2nd half and 3 of those came from a challenge on the OG 3 pointer. And 2 from the Brunson steal from Wemby.

Agreed. He's come a long way. I hated watching the guy play for a long time. Unbelievably soft. That one photo of him running into Demarcus Cousins pretty muched summed up the first part of his career. He's a beast now, mixing it up down low. Good for him. Gives me some hope that Sarr can develop some of whatever motivated Towns to start playing like a 7 footer.

I've mentioned this before but the big difference I notice about KAT is he's not always getting 3 fouls in first half.
He's staying on the court a lot more.

Wemby is a baby deer on offense. Too many jumpers.

Fox played much better.

Congrats to the Knicks though. They’re unbeatable this postseason.

One loss in the 1st round is doing well for sure. It's up there with 4-4-4 (Moses' 6ers) (who lost 1 post season game to the Bucks)
Should also mention how loaded those 6ers were. Doc, Bobby Jones, Cheeks and Toney. And TSW's bro Caldwell IIRC.

It's remarkable that so often when they (Knicks) seem poised to lose, they still win.

This is what frustration looks like when you actually have to play against a healthy team

19 to 8 on 2H free throws. That’s the difference in this game.

I was wrong. I thought the young Spurs would get swept. But they’ve now ensured the series will go back to San Antonio.

Tough, close game. They're basically playing hockey out there sometimes with the lack of foul calls. SGA might have just laid down on the court and not gotten up if the Thunder advanced, ha!

I'm impressed the young spurs were able to keep it together and win this game after two losses at home. Shows some fortitutde that not all young teams have.

Knicks lost for the first time in like a month - let's see how they bounce back.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot? Urinal cakes!

The Knicks didn't play well and they deserved to lose, regardless of the free throw discrepancy.
